Wikipedia and copyright edit

  Hello Ferdilouw, and welcome to Wikipedia. Hello, I am glad you are working on this article. Please don't be frustrated with the consensus against you. Just be patient. A sizable group of editors is working within the pro-life topic area to cement Wikipedia's systemic bias. There is a larger problem, though; the vast majority of "WP-acceptable" sources are pro-abortion. So building a neutral pro-life article is a Sisyphean task that most people have lost interest in. Well, WP:CON explains much of it. An important thing to know about consensus is that it mostly happens via normal editing. If I make an edit and it stands for 6 months, that's good consensus for keeping it. When editing fails then we fall back to discussions. Consensus can be built in dispute resolution such as RFCs or notice boards. Basically, if enough involved editors talk it over for a while, they can hammer out compromises or a clear decision for or against the propositions.
Consensus should always be policy-based, because it can't override policy. In fact policy is also set by consensus. But conversely, if enough editors agree on a consensus that is technically against policy, there's not much you can do, which brings us to the current topic area!
Consensus can often be overridden by just a sheer majority or dedicated cabal deciding to ignore it. Wikipedia even allows this via WP:IAR. Having no hard and fast rules, the involved editors are free to set their own standards about what goes into articles, and even more so, what stays out.
