Speedy deletion nomination of Venus Concept edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Venus Concept, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Zeltiq Aesthetics edit

Hi EstonianMan. I noticed you took an interest in this page. There's a draft of a substantailly improved version of the article that has been sitting on the Talk page for almost three months. I have not implemented the draft myself in compliance with Wikipedia's conflict of interest rules (I have a conflict of interest). I was wondering if you had time to give it a lookover and consider whether to move it into article-space. CorporateM (Talk) 15:43, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

CorporateM, For sure. I will take a look and work on it. Send me please more suggestions for aesthetics medicine if you have. Thanks,EstonianMan (talk) 15:56, 22 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Venus Concept edit

The article Venus Concept has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable company, PR spam. Refs 1 and 6 are press releases, Refs 2-5 don't even mention Venus Concept.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Charlton Morris edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charlton Morris requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I just reviewed the page and I believe it is Ok, because the company was awarded with the 5th most engaged agency (specialized boutique) by LinkedIn. They are doing a really good job for unemployed people. EstonianMan (talk) 14:39, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Ziehm Imaging edit

Hello, EstonianMan. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Ziehm Imaging, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Onel5969 TT me 16:26, 19 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

My comment to your observation regarding this request of deletion is that Charlton Morris has at least one notable fact and they are very active Worldwide. My focus usually is give exposure to those ones are small and dont have brand awareness. Please keep them and let's ask for improvements.

Conflict of interest in Wikipedia edit

Hi EstonianMan. I work on conflict of interest issues here in Wikipedia, along with my regular editing, which is mostly about health and medicine. Your edits to date are somewhat promotional with regard to medical device companies. I'm giving you notice of our Conflict of Interest guideline and Terms of Use, and will have some comments and requests for you below.

  Hello, EstonianMan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Comments and requests edit

Wikipedia is a widely-used reference work and managing conflict of interest is essential for ensuring the integrity of Wikipedia and retaining the public's trust in it. As in academia, COI is managed here in two steps - disclosure and prior peer review. Please note that there is no bar to being part of the Wikipedia community if you want to be involved in articles where you have a conflict of interest; there are just some things we ask you to do (and if you are paid, some things you need to do).

Disclosure is the most important, and first, step. While I am not asking you to disclose your identity (anonymity is strictly protecting by our WP:OUTING policy) would you please disclose if you have some connection with any of the companies about which you have edited, directly or through a third party (e.g. a PR agency or the like)? You can answer how ever you wish (giving personally identifying information or not), but if there is a connection, please disclose it. After you respond (and you can just reply below), I can walk you through how the "peer review" part happens and then, if you like, I can provide you with some more general orientation as to how this place works. Please reply here, just below, to keep the discussion in one place. Thanks! Jytdog (talk) 04:27, 29 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Jytdog, For sure I understand your role and you are right about my main editing focus, medical devices. First of all, I don't work for any medical devices companies in this moment, I worked before. My main goal is give visibility to small companies that could help health care industry to improve health. There are so many companies that could enhance people's life, but are not here (Wikipedia). EstonianMan (talk) 18:12, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for replying!
First, please do review WP:NOT, which describes the mission of WP, especially the WP:PROMO section. We are not here to provide "visibility" to any company, anyone, or any idea. We are simply here to provide the public with articles that summarize accepted knowledge.
Second, would you please clarify if you have had any connection, (paid or unpaid, employee; freelance contractor, etc) for any content you have written about in Wikipedia? Again please be aware that if you have edited for pay or for the expectation of being paid, you must disclose that. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 19:48, 2 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Jytdo, I got your point. Maybe visibility is to the right word, but Ok. I will get some time to review what your mentioned because I want to improve my editing. Question: How could I join a team of editors in healthcare? So I will have something more focused to do.
Jytdo, No, I never received to edit articles etc. I am just trying to help people to improve their lifes by showing relevant information. I am thing to focus in one subject to become more valuable to everybody. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 0EstonianMan (talkcontribs) 01:53, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for stating again that you have not been paid to edit. You have still not answered if you have any connection with subjects about which you have edited (you may have worked for one of the companies, but not been paid to edit, for example). Relationships like this are disclosed when people publish in the publish in the biomedical literature; we ask the same here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 02:18, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Jytdo, You are right! I forgot to mention. I worked fo GE Healthcare, but left 10 years ago so I believe that I dont need to disclosure. The only company I worked for at the same time of editing was Venus Concept and at that time they were against my article (funny). So I must disclosure if I had relationship or if I am having? Thanks, EstonianMan (talk) 02:25, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Yes you definitely had a COI for Venus Concepts. Thanks for disclosing that.
Writing about biomedical companies in WP is... difficult. Any claims about efficacy or harm need to be sourced per WP:MEDRS. Other content needs to be sourced per WP:RS. Ideally articles should always be based on what independent sources say (so not the company website, not press releases, not churnalism refs. Reach for refs like the Wall Street Journal avoid stock-analyzing blogs like motleyfood and thestreet. It is OK to use press releases some but only for details, like specific dates that things happened that are discussed in independent sources.
The goal should be to teach -- what challenges did the company face as a business, and how did it solve them? Aim for something like a Harvard Business School case study, not a mere directory listing. What can people learn from? That is aligned with our mission. Trying to promote a company or "increase its visibility" is not what we do here.
You might want to have a read of User:Jytdog/How, which I wrote to help people get oriented to what we do, why we do it, and how we do it... Jytdog (talk) 03:09, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
