Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Christopher Comstock, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 18:46, 25 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Christopher Comstock edit

Hello. Re your move of Christopher Comstock, please use the WP:Requested moves#Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves process to propose a page move. As you can see on Talk:Christopher Comstock, there was previously a move discussion and a decision not to move the article at that time. Station1 (talk) 18:48, 25 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Tarheel95. I noticed that you recently removed content from Eddie (given name) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. We should keep it and not nominate it ErceÇamurOfficial (talk) 10:33, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi ErceÇamurOfficial! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.   Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to John Cena. Thank you. Meters (talk) 18:14, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

You want me to give you the sources? Perhaps you should actually read the article and find them yourself. The sources are clearly given in the "Early life" section. His birth name is "Sinclair". Thanks for uploading File:DwayneJohnson.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. April 2023 edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Bill Bixby, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.   You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Gru (disambiguation). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Steel1943 (talk) 16:49, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Recommend not editing redirects or WP:RFD for a bit edit

Multiple editors have now pointed out to you that your edits and nominations on WP:RFD are problematic. Many of the redirects you have been nominating have clearly been useful in their current configuration for several years, and some of the redirects you have been nominating our redirects that are helpful for maintenance purposes, such as {{R from alternative name}}s and {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}}s. The simplest way for me to put this would probably be the following: at this point, if you consider a redirect a "useless redirect" or that it should be "speedy delete", I recommend you don't bother posting that nomination on RFD at all. I'm trying my best to assume good faith here, but it does not seem like that you are learning from any of the edits that you are performing, and repeating the same issues (see WP:CIR). At this point, take this is my last warning regarding this: If this keeps up, I will consider reporting you to WP:ANI so the community can possibly impose editing restrictions on you; Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and you seem to be acting on your own and repeating potentially troublesome edits without learning from others, which is not really compatible with the mission of Wikipedia. Steel1943 (talk) 19:30, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I concur with Steel1943. I suggest you carefully read the criteria at WP:GCSD and WP:RFD#DELETE. Many of your redirect nominations do not contain any rationale other than "useless redirect", for example here, here, and here. If you think a redirect is not useful, you need to state the reasons. I have myself stumbled at redirects which I thought were "useless", but I don't nominate them for deletion because I know there aren't policy-based rationales to do so. Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 11:04, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
