License tagging for Image:Tanburicemil1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tanburicemil1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Commercial use of Image:Niyazisayin.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Niyazisayin.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Niyazisayin.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Niyazisayin.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 22:16, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Niyazisayin.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

Image copyright problem with Image:Tanburaraligi.gif edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Tanburaraligi.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.--Gyrofrog (talk) 21:48, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Tanbur (Persian) edit

Greetings, you were involved in a discussion concerning the content of Tanbur (Persian). I plan to replace that article with the rewritten text at Tanbur/Temp, and then move Tanbur (Persian) to Tembûr (more details at Talk:Tanbur (Persian)#Improvement, nomenclature etc.). I would appreciate any constructive criticism or additional assistance you are willing to offer. I completely understand if you already feel weary of the entire matter. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:11, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Coelacanth edit

Please don't move articles when the move could be challenged without discussion and consensus on the talk page. It's been moved back. Most of the times I've seen it, it's without the ligatures. bibliomaniac15 Hey you! Stop lazing around and help fix this article instead! 04:29, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please look it up in the OED. It gives the ligatured version as the only valid one without further discussion and it is the ultimate reference. Excuse me for "moving" the page without discussion, yet it is clear to my senses that, when a Latin loan word reproducing the -oi- diphthong in Greek is rendered into English, it is always BETTER to use a ligature. Not all typing conventions use them, but whenever available, it should be used. To judge, compare the pronunciations of "cœlacanth" and "coexistence". Cœlacanth and coelacanth are NOT two true alternative spellings and that's why the OED does not discuss it: in the latter, only the standard typographical convention is lacking. I leave it to you to move it back. --Ekindedeoglu (talk) 08:03, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Niyazisayin.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Niyazisayin.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 02:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Latin edit

I am not sure whether you are familiar with a WikiProject or not (a description can be found here) but I'm planning on starting one for the Latin language. This is mainly because Latin is and has been such an important language in the history of western civilization but the article is only rated a 'C'. If you support my proposal then please sign your name on the proposal page here. 95jb14 (talk) 14:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Tanburtanburicemil.jpg edit

The file File:Tanburtanburicemil.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 20 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Help at the Ancient Greek Wikipedia edit

Hi! How are you? I have noticed that you say in your user page that you speak Ancient Greek and I was wondering whether you could possibly help us revive the Ancient Greek Wikipedia at the Incubator. It would be great if you could lend us a helping hand. Jon Gua (talk) 14:20, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I am sorry to bother you again but I was wondering whether you could possibly sign this (https://shorturl.at/hNQVY) petition in order to get the Wikipedia in Ancient Greek approved. Thank you so much for your help.
