Hmmm, well we should WP:AGF but I fear his time as an editor will be short, based on his other contribs. Well done for warning him. Watch his contribs, probably he won't edit much more but if he impersonates someone again, tell a friendly admin. Sticky Parkin 09:29, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Don't know if you've seen this yet [1] sad news indeed. Tuxraider reloaded (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 02:48, 16 September 2008 (UTC).

psychic interest (longish post)

I see a great future ahead of you on WP- it will be similar to mine.:) And with the social elements of User:Dfrg.msc. But there are a lot of boring policies etc for you to memorize the details of first. Try and take a look at the articles at WP:AfD and see people's arguments and perhaps contribute after a while of watching. Some of your edits about songs etc, tend to verge on WP:OR- for most of your interpretations of songs that you add, I'd like to see a source. So you might like to see how the sources explain songs. You can do this be typing the name of the song, enclosed in quotes ", into google news [2] (click on 'search archive, to the left too) or google books.[3]. A person can't be an adopter as far as I know until you've graduated from the adoption program if you're wanting to be in and stay in it. In order to graduate from the program I'd like to see you getting in a habit of adding sources to articles, or when you add a statement adding statements which are sourced in WP:RS as I described the method of finding them above (not just 'normal' google which is full of forums etc) although you can make other non-controversial edits of course. Contribute with less WP:NOT/myspace etc. and there are no other major problems with your edits- you don't swear etc, though you could grovel a bit more to admins when in trouble. Hope this helps and is not too depressing.:) Sticky Parkin 21:15, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

I know it's not what you mean, but if you shout in edit summaries or edits [4], it may make people think you are having a go at them:( Sticky Parkin 21:43, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

refs

I'm glad to see you trying to put refs for your edits. But instead of your perception of what's happening in a program etc, like this [6] , which is called WP:OR, and using that as a reference, you need to find instances in WP:RS, such as to use an invented example, "Fred Bloggs, television journalist, says the Nerd has a shocked expression," then ideally link to where Fred says that. If not, stick to very simple edits, perhaps like this one, which no-one will question, where you don't need to add a reference. Otherwise perhaps WP:ANAL editors are going to revert you.:( Sticky Parkin 17:09, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I thought it might make you feel better about yourself that even though you don't feel confident doing references yet, you are a good faith contributor. 903 was okay at references but has been blocked as a sock of this person [7] Sticky Parkin 23:49, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Freaked out?

No you didn't freak me out at all- you didn't do anything to freak me out. Try not to be disillusioned. It was my other adoptee who freaked me out if anything, being one of dozens of sock puppets of a banned user lol.:) What are you writing about? I'm writing a little pamphlet about a type of reiki, to be published by lulu.com, but mainly in a tongue in cheek fashion.:) Sticky Parkin 20:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

What are these tough times you've been through?:( What's been happening? Hope you are ok-ish. Sticky Parkin 20:41, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Reverting vandals is pleasurable.:) If you print a book on lulu and manage to sell a fair few copies, it's easier for you to persuade a publisher to publish your book, as you can prove to them that people want to buy what you write. Not that I care lol, I'm just doing it for fun.:) Sticky Parkin 21:01, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Oooooh, sound:) The forum on a wetpaint wiki is fun if you want to set one up, although it's hard to attract users perhaps. If you mention it, mention it (not to people you don't know well) via email so you don't get accused of spamming WP. I'm on a wetpaint forum [9] excuse the subject matter lol :) The owner is called vegan4satan. I think she uses the wiki part mainly for her own writings/info she wants to add, but her forum is quite fun. Sticky Parkin 12:51, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

barnie/userpage

OOoooh, I love that one, thank you:) There's something wrong with my userpage code, and the barnstars, which should be in the 'wikipersonality' section of the collapsible box, aren't showing up. You're better at these things than me- could you possibly fnd out what's wrong with the code and sort it out? Sticky Parkin 17:27, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

The collapsible boxes are a bit down the page and called 'about me etc'. Then the barnstars are in the section called 'wikipersonality and articles created' or something, there's quite a lot there so you have to scroll through it. In the edit window it's after the list of articles created. All the code for thhe barnstars appears there but they aren't showing up, so there must be a bracket or something missing :( Sticky Parkin 17:46, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

RE: ABYSMAL Continuity!

The film adaption section has abysmal continuity! It suddenly says "...finds out that Jack is Eric..." It doesn't say anywhere about a name change! Please keep a closer watch, and I am being as WP:CIVIL as I can.--Editor510 drop us a line, mate 22:07, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Maybe you're being civil, but you're not being very attentive or accurate. Here is a direct quote from the section in question: "Eric, shy and eager to be good again, builds up a new life under the name Jack Burridge". So, to use your words, please keep a closer look. Ward3001 (talk) 22:11, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Eddie hun

User:Editor510/godrubbish- this could be considered as unpleasant towards other's religions, in breach of User_boxes#Content_restrictions. In userboxes, it's better to express what you like, rather than what you don't like. In userspace, the rules are more free and less rigid, but I still suggest you reword it a bit. How about "Is a sceptic, and rubbishes some establishment beliefs' or something like that? Sticky Parkin 00:44, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

What is offensive is a subjective judgment of course, but such userboxes are generally not advised. I don't think the other ones are quite the same, but that's my opinion of course. Just because jokey ones insulting Islam and so on exist, doesn't mean other similar userboxes should be created. Sticky Parkin 17:39, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

hey Ed

Hey Ed hun, no-one's saying you don't have a right to be an atheist [12]. It's just a matter of what is the right way to express it on the wiki. I myself am a Satanist. Sticky Parkin 00:04, 13 March 2009 (UTC) Who would have guessed?Darkside2000 (talk) 15:02, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

They're wrong. You're right. No matter what actually happens. End of story.

With regards to God, that's just a matter of belief and faith and opinion and all that boring stuff. No juicy argument there. But as for you using your userpage area to create userboxes like the one saying "This user thinks that God is similar to a load of rubbish," you are expressing a strongly worded personal opinion on the wiki in an appropriate manner, and they are wrong to seek its deletion. I don't think this is a dispute between atheists and Christians. I think it is a dispute between the rational and irrational. Rational people recognize that there is nothing inflammatory or divisive about a strongly worded opinion. Irrational busybodies live in a fantasy land where they imagine they are protecting some non-existent group of offended people by neutering the blunt and powerful language of others. Hello

Hi Eddie, sorry I missed your message for so long. I don't really edit anymore. IMHO you just need to reference more stuff rather than doing anything that is construed by other editors as WP:OR. Survive for 3 months without any editor accusing you with any possible validity of WP:OR and you can consider yourself passed. At that point you can message me for some 'yay I've passed' bling to put on your userpage, and I'll answer sooner or later lol. Who'dve thought you would outlast me lol. I got sick o f the behaviour of some other editors and how if they were in a position of power on wiki they could get away with anything. Sticky Parkin 11:33, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Whether you can get a corrupt or otherwise dodgy admin dealt with depends how many cronies they have, plus they tend to get a slap on the wrist, rather than a block which some of them deserve. Adding and tagging in BLPs

We've got a verifiability policy which means that our articles need to be verifiable. Furthermore the BLP says we take this especially seriously in the case of living people. In a recent edit [13] you added the following text to Teller (entertainer):

In an appearance on The One Show, Teller cupped a hand over his mouth, and threw his voice into the audience so that he could reply to a question by Penn Jillette ('I sure do, Penn!'){{fact}}

That is, you knowingly added an unsourced fact. Don't do that. --TS 20:23, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello

Its been a long time since I have been on Wikipedia. How are you?Darkside2000 (talk) 13:37, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Doing well. I've still got a sense of humour, but I'm a lot more serious about the wiki now. How is WikiTopia since I abdicated?--Editor510 drop us a line, mate 12:48, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Quite Dead. I deleted the Wikia for it as no-one was using it.Darkside2000 (talk) 10:28, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

That's a shame. Oh, well, I hope you're fine and well. I am, definitely. Here, have a cookie.

okay?

Is this okay? This is the same thing. I'll erase it if unwanted because I typed it. It slows down the page load a lot. A person who has been editing Wikipedia since October 28, 2010. (talk) 23:52, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Still Here?

I'm wondering if any of us are actually editing on Wikipedia anymore? I've not logged in for at least a year now and I'm wondering if you are still editing BTW My DOF pagesare still here, I haven't updated them in AGES!.Darkside2000 (talk) 11:58, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Things have changed since then, I've been looking back at what I've created edited over my time here at Wikipedia. A lot of it makes me cringe, some I would even consider being a Dethroning Moment of Suck (See what I did there) If I ever return to Wikipedia fully as a proper, more sensible and serious editor, I'll have to clean a few things up first. I was suprised that my DOF page was still there. Before I go, I must say that I want to read or at least watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, I love Yu Gi Oh Abridged (even though I don't play childrens card games) and am also a huge fan of the TV show Arrested Development.I also bought Saints Row the Third a few days ago. It was Amazing and I didn't expect it to be as good. Darkside2000 (talk) 22:27, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

For making Wikipedia Special all those years ago when we had WikiNation. Good grief, time has passed since then. Darkside2000 (talk) 12:01, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Cleanup

I think that if I'm going become a serious editor, I'll have to first cleanup my whole talk page, clearing it(unless you want me to keep some of it then which I will). Then I'd have to remove what I typed on my main page because some of that is, quite frankly, humiliating. Darkside2000 (talk) 22:44, 23 November 2011 (UTC) Anyway, the blackout is going to happen, good thing I eat carrots then. Darkside2000 (talk) 20:54, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Stll Around

Good grief, it's been a year already? As I can see you're still around. I just wish Wikipedia had a PM System... At least TV Tropes is more addictive. I don't know who long it's been since we did the WikiNation thing, probably 4-5 years... Well it's nice to talk to you anyway at least. Darkside2000 (talk) 17:18, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Just checked in the DOF. My Wikitour thingy is still there and I noticed your little song links there. Pretty awesome XD Darkside2000 (talk) 13:10, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Exactly. The DOF is still there, they ask for more money while that is just being forgotten about. If it was a little better it could be justified now but not at the moment. There are better sites for craziness than Wikipedia.Darkside2000 (talk) 15:24, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Might as well keep things interesting.

Since you are still here, editing away, I might as well start too, although I'm nowhere near as addicted to wikipedia as I once was. I just still stick on the net, looking up random garbage though.I really ought to stop that. The good news is GTA V is out soon. I'll be getting that and trying to avoid the spoilers until then Darkside2000 (talk) 11:46, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd do that too. I think we should stick to the one page if we are going to talk, as it'll be a bit awkward talking between our two pages. I still wish Wikipedia had a PM system Darkside2000 (talk) 14:03, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Olbas Oil, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mint. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wide-leg jeans, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Madness (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi :)

Hi Eddie, sorry for the delay. We will soon keep in touch on something I/we actually use. :) My FB is more interesting than my twitter but will msg you on there with it.

So glad you've got so far with uni despite your health! Well done! Have you published your novel? I do recommend it if only on Lulu. What sort of thing is it? I published something once, and hope to have something else finished soon.

I completely understand as I've had bipolar occassionally for many years, and have recently diagnosed with ADHD (I recommend getting tested as the meds really help-worth you trying!) and probably ASD. I'm 41! No-one really knew I had these conditions until I saw a private consultant, because I don't fit the profile- am fairly outgoing though I often go wrong socially lol, and did ok academically because I tried hard on and off. :) But it was far harder and took me longer than the average person, because the ADHD meant I had difficulties with motivation and also dealing with stress, and also poor self esteem etc. I'm saying all this because an assessment might help you- you never know!

Yes I often wonder recently what it would've been like to be diagnosed with some of these things at 10 rather than 41 :) There was very little awareness of these conditions in the 80s :) I think nowadays if I was that age I might be diagnosed with ASD, as teachers etc are more aware now. I still wouldn't be diagnosed with ADHD as I did ok academically. They need to be more aware that that can happen- people can do fairly well, but not as well as they would without the condition.

Such thanks for the link! I love people and was always curious about you out of my nosiness :) Speak soon, Kath SatansFeminist (talk) 15:00, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

February 2024

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! DoctorMatt (talk) 21:40, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
