April 2015

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on User talk:216.4.56.168. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Did not use warning number 1 first. Fresh Sullivan (talk) 17:44, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Editors are not required to issue a level 1 warning first. Did you review the edit they made? They blatantly deleted existing material and inserted nonsense. Level 3 warnings are appropriate first level warnings in cases where bad faith is suspected. Ironically, another editor thanked me for reverting the IP's edit. So thanks for the advisory, but in this instance it's misplaced. Cheerio. DonIago (talk) 18:32, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
My apologies, I didn't see their previous edits. After looking at them, I think level 3 was OK to be first. I wouldn't have gave a level 3 first just out of giving people chances, but I think it was OK. I went ahead and issued level 2 after another unconstructive edit he made. Thank you very much for trying to make Wikipedia a better place. Happy editing! Fresh Sullivan (talk) 01:07, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
Apology accepted, thanks! DonIago (talk) 01:22, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Brian Jones Son and Donovan Leitch

April 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Donovan, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 14:05, 20 April 2015 (UTC) If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You made a mistake as this information is found in the two biographies on Brian Jones by Paul Trynka -- Brian Jones: The Making of the Rolling Stones and Sympathy for the Devil: The Birth of the Rolling Stones and the Death of Brian Jones, page 320.

From Sympathy for the Devil, I quote, "Unsurprisingly, Julian has found the burden of being Brian's son heavy to bear, despite beign brought up with obvious love and sensitivy by his adopted father Donovan Leitch." The almost exact same sentence appears on page 319 of Brian Jones: The Making of the Rolling Stones.

Other biographies on Brian Jones and Donovan also make mention of this fact. I would hope you would restore this information to the said article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.166.127.16 (talk) 08:28, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Greetings IP,
Please note that new Talk page comments should generally go at the bottom of the page. Also, you can sign your messages by adding four tildes (~) to the end of them.
You are welcome to re-add the information with an appropriate citation. Generally unsourced information should not be added to articles, especially biographies of living people; as you observed, other editors may question from where you obtained the information, as is their right per Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 13:35, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Subway

I italicized the Subway's Eat Fresh slogan because slogans are supposed to be italicized in infoboxes Rewind Wrestling (talk) 21:04, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Can you point me to the relevant guideline/policy/consensus on that please? Thanks. DonIago (talk) 21:43, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
Apparently not, as indicated by the editor who consequently reverted you (again) and provided an appropriate link. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 13:37, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Monty Python

Hi! I have re-added the Monty Python production information that I put on to Wikipedia last night with a cited source for what the production manager of the film said he did to achieve a particular effects shot. In the past I have seen an interview with director Terry Gilliam talking about the same shot but I have so far been unable to find it again, so have deleted the mention of Gilliam stating how the shot was achieved. I will continue to try and find the Gilliam source :) Dangermousewiki (talk) 14:25, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure that the source you added qualifies as a reliable source, but I won't dispute it at this time. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 14:43, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
