Thank you for your addition to Michael Boyle (the younger), however you did not include a page number in your book citation. Please could you add one. Also I noticed (from a section above) that you created an article called John Bysse which uses the same book and which also does not include page numbers (see WP:CITE). -- PBS (talk) 22:42, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Robert Bruce, Lord Bruce requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Hello

I just thought I'd let you know that I say your article Christopher St Lawrence, 10th Baron Howth in the New Articles list--However, I think the article seems to contain a few errors the references in the article do not follow Wikipedia guidelines. There is a tutorial on formatting citations at Wikipedia:Referencing. It would be great if you could also clean-up the related article Earl of Howth.

Page numbers

Firstly, well done for putting some work into Ireland's legal history. Creating pages for a number of the old courts in particular has filled in a gap that I've been keenly aware of for some time!

I've just done a quick tidy-up of Court of Common Pleas (Ireland). You've referenced a source work in a couple of places, but haven't given a page number. If at all possible, would you be able to add them to the article? It makes citations much more useful for other people reading it!

William Davys

I was alerted to some edits that you have made because it flagged on my watch list.

Michael Boyle (archbishop of Armagh) this edit lead me to the article Sir William Davys which I moved to William Davys] because it does not Sir as a disambiguator. Please see Talk:William Davys -- PBS (talk) 12:00, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

History of Dublin (6 Volumes)

In John Davys (died 1689) you have included a citation to "Ball, F. Elrington (1902-1920). History of Dublin (6 Volumes). Dublin: Alexander Thom and Co." the trouble is that it does not include page numbers, volume, or the specific publication date for the volume.

I did a quick search of other uses of this tome to show how the citations can be laid out. The first one I came across was Robert Bagod another one by you! But in that one although you have the volume and page number, you have not dated the volume but only included the range of dates for all six volumes. Do you have the specific volume year?

The reason this stuff is needed is because if someone else is to check the citations, it makes their job much easier to track the information down, and for a student who wishes to present the information in a paper, they will have to go and look at the original if they are not going to be dammed by their teachers/lectures for using Wikipedia without checking that the information is from a reliable source. -- PBS (talk) 23:21, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Baronets and Barons

I came here because of an edit you made to James Barry, 1st Baron Barry of Santry and Sir William Parsons, 1st Baronet of Bellamont.

Although we place often place baronet articles under an disambiguation of ",1st Baronet" etc (see WP:NCPEER "Baronets should generally have their article located at the simple name, e.g. George Albu (rather than 'Sir George Albu' or 'Sir George Albu, 1st Baronet') However:". -- In the case of Sir William Parsons a further extension is needed because there were two 1st baronets with the same name of "William Parsons": 1st Baronet of Bellamont (1620 creation) and 1st Baronet of Langley (1661 creation).

It is not usual to use the full name in the text, hence a link to Sir William Parsons, 1st Baronet of Bellamont would usually be piped as [[Sir William Parsons, 1st Baronet of Bellamont|Sir William Parsons]]</nowiki> so the link appears as Sir William Parsons (for baronets the Sir is usually included in the pipe -- I usually do not include the Sir in a pipe for a Kt. or KB etc). In a similar way British and Irish barons are not usually called that in text, they are usually referred to as Lord [X] and then linked with a "|" (pipe symbol) to an article with a full title. Sometimes of course one wants to use the name of the person on the first usage such as John Sutton, Lord Dudley, and less often their full title, but for example think how rarely one sees Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington compared to "Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington" or the "Duke of Wellington". -- PBS (talk) 10:27, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

David Richard Pigot's Kilrush Connections?

I have removed for the time being the reference to David Richard Pigot on the Kilrush page which you added on 1 December 2011 and vice versa as the sources that I cite all say that he was born in Kilworth, co. Cork, and none of them mention Kilrush, co. Clare. I would be delighted to see fully documented confirmation of any Kilrush connection to the Pigot family. Pwaldron (talk) 14:06, 2 February 2013 (UTC) I will check and revert

I was misled by Elrington Ball who is normally entirely reliable. He says Kilrush, County Cork which must be a slip for Kilworth.
