Disambiguation link notification for March 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lien Chan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Wang Yi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Lee Han-shen

Hello Chongkian,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Lee Han-shen for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Tentinator (talk) 16:02, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Your new articles on politicians of the Republic of China

Hi, Chongkian. Hope you are doing fine. I see that you are enthusiastically creating short articles on politicians from the Republic of China, which is great. Only that I am afraid you are committing one mistake: you are wrongly categorizing these articles under Category:Diplomats of the Republic of China. You should actually categorize them under Category:Politicians of the Republic of China. Best regards, --Fadesga (talk) 19:28, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I was trying to make those new articles for other people to further develop it. Cuz if no one starts, it seems like there will never be one. Ok, my bad on the wrong categorization of the articles. I've changed most of them already. Chongkian (talk) 11:00, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

New articles on Taiwanese Politicians

Thank you for your work. But please link them to Chinese Wikipedia articles if you can... --Nlu (talk) 10:48, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

I was thinking about that for some times. But I found some difficulties on how to link the newly created Wikipedia article (in English let's say) to the current existing one (in other language, e.g. Chinese Wikipedia let's say). Tried to browse on Wikiepdia help on that, but couldn't really get any clear answer. If you can help me link that, that would be really great ;) Chongkian (talk) 11:00, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

No problem. :-) Most Taiwanese politicians are far more likely to have Chinese Wikipedia articles than articles in any other language, so one thing to do is, if you have their Chinese names (which you do for most of them), search for them in Chinese Wikipedia. Then, basically, at the end of the article, add [[zh:<whoever>]]. Thank you for your contributions.
Oh, one more thing: please make sure, if you can, that the articles have the proper sort key. On top of the list of the categories, you can put, {{DEFAULTSORT:<last name>, <first name>}} for that purpose. --Nlu (talk) 11:04, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello Chongkian,

This is just a courtesy visit to inform you that I took the liberty to expand your article a little since it was tagged as a stub. I've also put in a few references that support the sections I added. Hope, you'd like my little effort. I'd appreciate receiving your say on this. Best regards. (MrNiceGuy1113 (talk) 04:08, 4 June 2013 (UTC))

Oh, feel free to do so ;) .. All of the articles I've created on Taiwanese politicians are mostly only the opening/introduction with the most basic data I get from their own respective government dept website. I hope everyone can further add more & more information about their background, works, or current government policy or decision making. I purposely make all of this for everyone to further expand it as time goes by ;) Of course with all of the proper references. Chongkian (talk) 06:48, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hohaiyan Rock Festival

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Hohaiyan Rock Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. I can't find the "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" button. However, I've added more information to the article, as it is still a new articles. More and more information will be added soon. I've also included the link to its Chinese Wikipedia article, which is fully well-written.Chongkian (talk) 03:16, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

advice

Another admin quick correctly declined to delete the article, because it did have content. But the best way to avoid this sort of thing is to make sure there is substantial content from the very beginning, including several good third party references. I've noticed your articles on museum. The museums are probably notable, and should have articles--but there must be more content. You need a description of the museum, including its history, an indication of the highlights in the collection, and references. They can be in Chinese--but do give some indication of their meaning in English--translate at leas the title. It's betterto make 5 good articles than 10 weak ones. Copy-and-paste move

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Fengshan District a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Fongshan District. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. -Zanhe (talk) 05:51, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

2013 Taiwan food scandal

Chongkian,

I don't think this is in any way connected to the cooking oil problems in Taiwan, but do you think the Taiwanese starch problem deserves mention in the 2013 Taiwan food scandal article? See [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] for coverage. Vycl1994 (talk) 20:05, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Which particular part inside the 2013 Taiwan food scandal you think is not relevant? I'm really open to any suggestion or improvement, and please do so at your convenience if it can make the article becomes more legitimate. I initially wanted to write only about the cooking oil thing (because it all started from the cooking oil itself) as the "2013 Taiwan cooking oil scandal" or any similar title. But as time goes by, other types of food (besides oil) were found to violate the food regulation (if I can put this way), so I tried to combine all of those foods into one article. Even now the Taiwanese authorities are still undergoing the safety inspection (as a respond to the food scandal issues) to their milk farm. See [6] Chongkian (talk) 02:36, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
I think you misunderstood my question. I meant that even though the starch problems had nothing to do with the oil problems, should it be added to the article? The starch issue first came up in May 2013, as fair as I can tell. Then other investigations in October uncovered the oil problem. These two starch and oil problems are not connected; one did not cause the other, but should it be added because because it happened in 2013 in Taiwan? Or is it best to start another article specifically about the starch topic? I am not picking on the work you already did to the page. Rather, I am asking if reliably sourced information about the adulterated starch should be added into the existing article. I hope my question is clear and that if you think this is notable enough, you will add it. Vycl1994 (talk) 05:34, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Oh sorry, my bad. Now I understand what you mean. After I read it thoroughly, based on my understanding I think those two events (the one you said and the current oil (including milk etc) food issues) have no relations between each other. The oil scandal is not the continuation of the starch problem. Milk scandal is the continuation of the oil scandal (the Taiwanese authorities try to make a grand check on all of their food products after knowing the problem in their oil), that's why I grouped them within this article as saying "2013 Taiwan food scandal" instead of just "2013 Taiwan oil scandal". Besides, all of the responds in Taiwan and outside Taiwan are all related to those oil-related (and subsequently all of the other food that follows after the discovery of the adulterated oil). For the Taiwan starch scandal/problem, I think it's best to make it as a unique article, since it is not directly related to the current ongoing food scandal. You can always make it as "2013 Taiwan starch scandal" or any related title. But maybe at the beginning of the article, it's good to include the sentence "Not to be confused with the 2013 Taiwan food scandal". Something like that. Hopefully this helps. Cheers Chongkian (talk) 14:38, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I might get to work on it sometime, though not now, as I have no time to make anything other than minor edits. Vycl1994 (talk) 16:00, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
