Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Grain (company), from its old location at User:Chazukebowl/sandbox/Grain. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. -Liancetalk/contribs 17:52, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have an undisclosed financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future. MER-C 20:20, 7 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi, I'm requesting for my account to be unblocked. I have added disclosure to my User Talk page, and I will also be making more contributions in the future to pages relevant to the Southeast Asian tech scene. Openspace Ventures and the companies in its portfolio—GoJek, Grain, and many more—are highly influential in the SEA startup ecosystem. I regularly cover these topics for news outlets and was asked to see if I could make some additions to Wikipedia. Openspace, along with Golden Gate Ventures, East Ventures, and 500 Startups, is an important VC that I believe should be included. In the future, I will not accept compensation and I will continue to make edits as well as create new pages for other Southeast Asian VCs and notable startups, if you are open to removing my block.

Decline reason:

No thanks. It's not just your lack of disclosure, and you haven't addressed that at all. This is probably the end of the line here, but you are welcome to try again with an unblock request that makes clear you'll never violate WP:COI again and telling us what subject matters you'll write about instead. Yamla (talk) 10:59, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi, sorry about that. I was being compensated by Openspace to write, then post articles on Wikipedia on their behalf. In the future, I will not be creating articles directly about Openspace or any other SEA tech organization because of the conflict of interest. I will also not edit the articles I've submitted any further and will focus on creating new articles about the Southeast Asian tech ecosystem by submitting through AfC. Would it be possible to reconsider my block?

Decline reason:

It's clear that you don't understand WP:COI. This plain language explanation may help. If there are subjects unrelated to your COI you want to edit about, please tell us. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 15:23, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You clearly still have a conflict of interest in that subject area. Are you really sure you have read and understood WP:COI? --Yamla (talk) 16:39, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Yamla. Yes, I have read and I do understand the WP:COI. I will not be editing the Openspace articles any more, and I will only contribute to or submit pages of companies and organizations I am not affiliated with. I do believe there is a need for good content about the SEA tech scene as it is a very large and new market, but it was wrong of me to accept compensation to create articles, and I will not be doing that for any organization in the future. I’ll also focus on creating truly objective, sound content about some of the biggest players in the ecosystem. Chazukebowl (talk) 05:39, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
