If your page complies with the Wikipedia notability guidelines then other editors like you will not tag with deletion templates. Since, you are a new editor so I strongly recommend you to use WP:AFC for your article creations. Thank you,Bisswajit 15:26, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Synergist (Project Management software) edit

Hi Bisswajit

Can you help me out with Synergist (Project Management software) please. I've tried to find the most reputable citations as I could and have not made any comments without referencing a citation.

I read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#What_counts_as_a_reliable_source and so much detail is on their own website site - but obviously I can't base an article around self references.

Which references do you have an issue with? I've used the Teambox page as a reference. Thanks in advance,

Jamesfx3 (talk) 17:05, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Teambox itself is a web-based tool and notability is not inherited so you need to present the notability as per these criteria. Thank you,Bisswajit 17:13, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi both are web-based tools. I need a bit more help than that please.

Citation #1 edit

Apple Appstore - items entered onto the AppStore are independently verified/approved before being added.[citation needed]

English Wikipedia's notability guidelines is different from Apple Appstore, in fact Appstore doesn't have any notability criteria at all so this cannot be a reliable source.--Bisswajit 14:06, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Citation #2 edit

The Drum - The Drum has been used as a citation on the following pages; E3 Media, Mike Bennett (businessman), The Corporate Group, Andrew Diey, Credos, History of Lothian Buses, John Smith's Brewery, Optimax, Penn Schoen Berland, Rachel Stevens discography, Roar (UK TV series), Subcity Radio, Tim Downie, Cardonald College, Lambie-Nairn, Timeline of the 2011 England riots, Metro Radio, Attic Lights, John Smith's Brewery, Laura Kuenssberg, OnePoll, Hannah Miley, Kumho Tires, Controversies at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Sky 3D, Andrew Paulson, Lothian Buses, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, BrewDog, Horrible Histories, The Bees (UK band), Sky+ HD, Digital 3D, Greater Manchester Police, I Believe I Can Fly, Leyton Orient F.C., W00t, Blue Peter, Dr. Evil and at least 59 additional articles

I am not sure about the reliability of thedrum.com so I placed the issue here[1].--Bisswajit 14:30, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Citation #3 edit

TheSamBaines.com - this citation is inappropriate and has been removed. The fact it alluded to has been removed also. The software claims to be designed with creative and design agencies in mind on the company webpage. Can this detail be included?

If you are referring to this[2] then this can be included.--Bisswajit 14:41, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Citations #4-6 edit

This makes no claim - only that the company sponsors creative events. And alternative source of citation is [1]. If necessary, the citations for SiliconBeach.eu, Dadi Awards, Digital Sizzle can be removed. The revised paragraph would then only make reference to the Dadi awards.

Jamesfx3 (talk) 16:00, 29 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Firstly, I request you to put all your messages under one heading. Please, see the guidelines here.
  • Secondly, use a single Wikipedia account to post comments instead of your IP.
  • Thirdly, I did not find Dadi Awards to be noteworthy but you can comments on how and why Dadi Awards are notable.

You can still improve the article and start discussion on the article's talk page about why the article is noteworthy and the awards too with proper references. Also, re-read the PROD notice on your talk page. --Bisswajit 14:58, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinking edit

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies for infoboxes.)

Thanks and my best wishes.

Tony (talk) 05:06, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks TONY for the note but I think there is some confusion as I did not add the wikilinks[3]. My 3 edits on the page were this[4] where I added categories, and this[5] where I tagged with {{unreferenced}} and finally this[6] where I removed the unnecessary symbol from the page. Anyway, thanks again for your message. Regards,Bisswajit 16:27, 5 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Again,

I have just created a page on my sandbox, please review it and if its ok then we can publish it. link here User:Indiainlove/sandbox —Preceding undated comment added 07:42, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi, if Ira Trivedi is a notable writer then this does not necessarily implies that her books will be notable too though inherited notability applies here in certain circumstances. So, please, check the Wikipedia notability criteria for books to check whether your article meets those criteria or not. Then read identifying reliable sources to establish the notability and avoid self-published sources. A single news source[7] with a passing mention of the book is not enough to establish the notability.--Bisswajit 14:13, 7 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Biswajit As per the conversation, i have added ISBN number also.Since the book is yet to published i haven't add the publish date, please tell me if its ok to make it live. --Indiainlove (talk) 13:14, 13 February 2014 (UTC)indiainloveReply

Thought of Ionesco (American Band) edit

It says there's an infringement on MTV content, but I assure you that MTV never covered this band, nor did I use any MTV content. Speedy deletion declined: List of Chief Ministers of Millan edit

Hello Bisswajit, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of List of Chief Ministers of Millan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a test page. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Olaf Davis (talk) 06:38, 3 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The page is indeed a test edit as its just a recreation from existing pages like List of Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand or List of current Indian chief ministers. The page list some Indian politicians but the reference provided in the article is about the List of Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand. Moreover there is no such state in India named "Millan". Speedy deletion of TJ Bhanu‎ edit

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag from TJ Bhanu‎ as I don't think it meets the criteria for CSD A7. The criteria for A7 is much lower than for notability and generally any article which gives some indication of importance (such as an actress or model in this case) doesn't qualify. I noticed you kindly proposed the deletion of "Cristián Maragaño Pisani", not once but twice. I have been working on the content during the day and already read the protocols and bases of Wikipedia in order to publish the biography of a living person and the reliable source section.

I'm also having issues uploading images despite the situation that I have 10 edits, my email is confirmed and have more than 6 months of user.

Could you please check again the references on the page in order to continue the editing without the fear of being delete?

Question on Speedy Deletion for Topher Mohr Page??? edit

Hello, hope all is well. I was just wondering what could be added or changed to get the page posted? I had several credible third party sites referenced that have featured and reported on him as he has played with some of the largest names in music. I was a bit confused by the 'speedy deletion' request. It noted that it doesn't show why the subject is important or significant, which is what was stated throughout the article with all of the artist he has played and toured with as well as awards and nominations he has received. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renee Glover (talkcontribs) 01:24, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Haunted Nations: The colonial dimensions of multiculturalism edit

Hello Bisswajit, I am curious why this page has been deleted under the grounds of unambiguous advertisement? This is a book summary, not an advertisement. Upon rereading my book summary introduction, I have located one phrase which might appear to be promotional, but I would happily remove this phrase (and others which you deem to be promotional). I believe this is very important information to share.

There are many other pages which purport point of view on the subject of multiculturalism, such as criticism of multiculturalism.

Rossmoss (talk) 18:33, 7 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please, read what Wikipedia is not. Please, do not add your book's summary instead write why your book is notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Here is the guideline for notability of books. And I didn't delete the article so you may contact the admin who actually deleted the page. Thanks, Bisswajit 07:52, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

But the page says this "This page gives some rough guidelines intended to be used by Wikipedia editors to decide whether a book should or should not have an article on Wikipedia. While satisfying these notability guidelines generally indicates a book warrants an article, failing to satisfy them is not a criterion for speedy deletion." I'm still unsure of what my article purported which you felt was advertisement.

Deletion of Araxis Merge / UltraCompare pages edit

Hi Bisswajit,

I'd like to improve the pages I added today to meet the standards you'd like to see in them. To that end, could you tell me what should be added?

I based the articles on other articles about file comparison utilities, as I honestly believe that these are two of the best file comparison tools available. I honestly find that sad in a way, but that's how things are.

If you look at these page, these are what I based my pages from:

I actually didn't particularly even want to write the articles, but the author of the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_file_comparison_tools has made that a stipulation of having the programs listed on that page, where, in my opinion, they completely belong.

If you still feel that they can't be improved or are just spam, I'd really appreciate knowing how they differ from all of the other packages listed on that page which *ARE* "worthy" of having articles about them. If you decide that all of those pages are really not worthy and they all get marked for deletion, I'd completely understand, but with the exception of screenshots which I simply haven't had time to gather, *I'M* not seeing the difference.

Thanks. Gaumless (talk) 20:54, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your speedy deletion is filled with frustrating and conflicting instructions. edit

Everything about your message saying that you're nominating my pages for contesting speedy deletion is frustrating, and conflicts with reality or other instructions.

  • When I got the message about the speedy deletion, it tells me to 'contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion"'. As far as I can tell, there's no button for that. Am I simply missing something
  • The speedy deletion message at the top of the pages I added tells me "You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason." But your message directly states "Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself". So should I improve my page and delete the tag or not?

Thanks for the warm welcome and helpful tips...

Gaumless (talk) 21:21, 20 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I think you're missing something. Please, read the tag carefully and my message on your talk page. A speedy deletion tag can be removed by any editors specially administrators except the creator of the article. Please, read here Wikipedia:CSD to understand speedy deletion criteria and if you think there are contradiction then you can post your comments on the talk page here Wikipedia talk:CSD. Notability edit

Hello Bisswajit. The other day you raised a notability question regarding the new article "Eleni Avlonitou" that I posted. She is at present a member of the Greek Parliament and is listed as such on the official website of the Greek Parliament, which I have cited in the article. Furthermore she was listed with a red link in the article "List of members of the Hellenic Parliament, June 2012–present" by Place Clichy on the 3rd April, a few days after she was sworn in, replacing the member of parliament Rena Dourou who resigned.
