Speedy deletion nomination of Stan Mullins

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stan Mullins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —C.Fred (talk) 17:47, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on User:Bdeldridge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please answer these two questions:

  1. Would you like Draft:Stan Mullins restored so you can work on improving that?
  2. What is your connection with Mullins? Wikipedia's terms of use require you to disclose if you are a paid editor.

C.Fred (talk) 17:56, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that would be grand.
I am a longtime friend and colleague of Stan and I am not a paid editor or paid in any way. Stan has a major sculpture unveiling a the Super Bowl this year and we both felt it was time to finally get a decent Wikipedia article pulled together and posted before this event. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bdeldridge (talkcontribs)
Since you already overwrote Draft:Stan Mullins with your new draft, and since the old one is over two years old, I'll just leave it deleted.
Thank you for clarifying that you are not a paid editor, but you are still subject to the editing guidelines and restrictions for users with a conflict of interest. —C.Fred (talk) 20:24, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because I am a friend of the artist Stan Mullins and had previously worked on a draft of his Wikipedia article. I am not sure what I could have possibly done wrong and have moved my work to my sandbox area for the development phase of the article before submitting it for acceptance.
