Roger C. Field

Hi ArcAngel. Can you help me with this? I did tag this for deletion, but I feel there is a portion of value, (the Foldaxe), just not the inventor. See discussion there. The majority of information about Roger C. Field does not seem to fit the purpose of Wikipedia. I have never tagged for deletion before so thought I would ask for some help. Personally, I would let the PROD stand, and if removed, then put the article through AfD. According to the discussion I saw on the article talk page, you note that most of the refs are not easily verifiable, so the article would fail WP:V at the very least. I am not convinced that the Foldaxe is notable either, but wait and see what happens with the PROD. Orion records

The Stereophile article is the sole source that I know regarding Orion, and to be honest I was surprised the label had received that much coverage in such a mainstream publication: after all, Orion, like so many small classical LP labels, was a tiny operation driven by one individual with sales that were negligible by the standards of pop, or even major classical, labels, and its recordings were hardly the sort of "audiophile" productions of most interest to the magazine's target audience. Nonetheless, classical collectors encounter its products, which include a good bit of interesting material in terms of both musicians and unusual literature, fairly often on the used LP market and are likely to be curious about the company, especially now that some of its material seems to be achieving reissue on CD. (Page view statistics seem to support that conclusion; they show that the article has received a small but steady stream of views, gradually increasing over time, ever since it went "live.") I doubt that tagging the article would chase out much more information beyond, possibly, something of dubious objectivity derived from trade papers or the like. Incidentally, I'm not quite clear why reliance on a third-party article in a recognized periodical was "original research"--I'd think that Stereophile would qualify as a perfectly legitimate secondary source, as long as the article was not an autobiographical piece or press release. The way the article is written, none of the statements made are referenced, which is way I said it could be considered original research as the claims made in the article cannot possibly be verified. Admittedly, I am not familiar with Stereophile, but from the quick glance I had of it, I am not sure of it's reliability as a source. The article lacks inline citations because, when I wrote the original submission, nearly everything came from the Stereophile piece cited as a reference, and you can verify every claim in the Wikipedia article by reference to the magazine article. Annotating every sentence or paragraph individually with notes to that effect would simply have littered the article with redundant clutter. Stereophile is a long-established specialist publication aimed at the audiophile community, well known and respected in audio circles, particularly among those with an interest in high-end equipment--specialist periodicals with roughly equivalent stature would be American Rifleman in the gun collectors' world or Motor Trend (coincidentally, I've just learned, a product of the same publisher) among auto enthusiasts. If you have a look at the stub in Wikipedia about Stereophile, you'll note that it's no Johnny-come-lately but has been in continuous publication since 1962. Honestly, I think you might have done better to familiarize yourself with the publication by more than a "quick glance" before rushing to judgment and placing tags questioning its reliability, especially on a low-but-steady traffic article on a specialized subject where there probably is little more information to be had, meaning that the disfiguring tags will probably just persist for the foreseeable future. My Article

Thank you for moving my article while I get the publication of it and verification of it dealt with. Perhaps you can help me. I am ready to publish it with all the references that can verify the information I listed in the article and yet it was not accepted. I researched why that could be and the only thing I came up with was because I am a new user and have not had "10 edits." I did however see that you can request it be moved regardless of those issues but I could not find the "move" link that was referenced in those directions. Unfortunately I am new to Wikipedia, but not new to the industry as I am an agent for talent, and Asian. I noticed the actor "Di Quon" did not have an article and so I wrote one since there are so few Asian Actors out there. Advice? Nouqderf (talk) 19:40, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I could move it, unfortunately it requires a bit of "cleanup" first. I would recommend reading the links I provided on your talk page and learning how Wikipedia uses "code" for the articles. One more question, I have read through all the links and I am a little unsure about the verification. Some of the references I used were links to the actual music video, for example. While I agree that EyPi RecordZ does not look notable and I have {{prod 2}}'ed the article, as I said Empty Buffer's talk page I do think that as it has an article for the time being it can be listed in List of record labels: A–H and ask you to reconsider your removal of it. My advice would be to withdraw your nomination. As I type, you have 4 supports and 20 opposes - there is no dishonour in withdrawing your nomination, in fact many people see it as a positive sign: it shows that you can use your common sense - a trait which is invaluable in an admin! Realistically, you would need to have at least 44 more supports and no further opposes to reach the 70% support level, which is the guideline figure for the level of support at which an editor is likely to become an admin. Article of the month – 2010 Toyota/Save Mart 350, new Good Article. The 2010 Toyota/Save Mart 350 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on June 20, 2010 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Contested over 110 laps, it was the sixteenth race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season and the first of two road course competitions on the schedule. The race was won by Jimmie Johnson, for the Hendrick Motorsports team. Robby Gordon finished second, and Kevin Harvick, who started fourth, clinched third. Conditions were sunny at the start of the race, making the track potentially slippery. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner, but Johnson, who had started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Kahne suffered an ill-handling car during the beginning of the race, causing him to fall to seventh by the sixth lap. Seven laps before the finish, race leader Marcos Ambrose, turned his car off to try to save fuel, but he could not refire the engine and subsequently stalled. He dropped back from the lead to sixth place with seven laps remaining, allowing Kahne to finish fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth. There were eight cautions and twelve lead changes among eight different drivers throughout the course of the race, Johnson's fourth win of the season and his first ever at Infineon. The result moved him up four spots to second in the Drivers' Championship, 140 points behind of leader Kevin Harvick and one ahead of Kyle Busch. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, nine points ahead of Toyota and forty-three ahead of Dodge, with twenty races remaining in the season. (More...)

Article of the month – 2010 Food City 500, a recent good article The 2010 Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee was the fifth race of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The race began at 1 p.m. EDT on March 21, 2010. The 2010 Food City 500 was televised on Fox and broadcast on PRN radio. This race marked the last appearance of the rear wing on the Car of Tomorrow, with the spoiler returning the following race. This race also was the first of three in Carl Edwards' probation following his altercation with Brad Keselowski at the previous race at Atlanta Motor Speedway; Keselowski was sent airborne, subsequently crashing on his side door. The race had 13 different leaders, 39 lead changes and 10 cautions. The race attendance of 138,000 marked the end of a long streak of sellout seats at the track, which has a capacity of 158,000. Article of the month – 2010 Carfax 400, a recent good article The 2010 Carfax 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on August 15, 2010 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Contested over 200 laps, it was the twenty-third race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Kevin Harvick for the Richard Childress Racing team. Denny Hamlin finished second, and Carl Edwards, who started twenty-fourth, clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner to begin the race, but Jimmie Johnson, who started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Afterward, Greg Biffle became the leader, and would eventually lead to the race high of 66 laps. Tony Stewart led after the final pit stops, ahead of Hamlin and Harvick. Harvick helped Hamlin to become the leader, but with twelve laps left, Harvick gained on Hamlin and claimed the first position with eleven lap remaining. Harvick maintained his position to claim his first Sprint Cup victory at Michigan International Speedway. There were five cautions and nineteen lead changes among nine different drivers throughout the course of the race, Harvick's third win of the season. The result maintained the first position in the Drivers' Championship and clinched him a position in the Chase. He remained 293 points ahead of second place driver Jeff Gordon and 353 ahead of Denny Hamlin. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty points ahead of Toyota and sixty-one ahead of Ford, with thirteen races remaining in the season. A total of 105,000 people attended the race, while 4.917 million watched it on television. (More...)

Article of the month – Alan Kulwicki, selected as a good article Alan Dennis Kulwicki (December 14, 1954 – April 1, 1993), nicknamed "Special K" and the "Polish Prince", was an American NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now Sprint Cup Series) racecar driver. He started racing at local short tracks in Wisconsin before moving up to regional stock car touring series. Kulwicki arrived at NASCAR, the highest and most expensive level of stock car racing in the United States, with no sponsor, a limited budget, and only a racecar and a borrowed pickup truck. Despite starting with meager equipment and finances, he earned the 1986 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award over drivers racing for well-funded teams. After Kulwicki won his first race at Phoenix International Raceway, he debuted what would become his trademark "Polish Victory Lap". Kulwicki won the 1992 Winston Cup championship by what was then the closest margin in NASCAR history. He died early in 1993 in a light aircraft accident, and was unable to defend his championship. He has been inducted into numerous racing halls of fame and was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. Kulwicki was known for being a perfectionist and doing things his own way. An engineer by trade, his scientific approach to NASCAR racing inspires the way teams are now run. Despite lucrative offers from top car owners, he insisted on driving for his own race team, AK Racing, during most of his NASCAR career. Described by his publicist as "a real hard type of person to get to know", he remained a bachelor throughout his life. (More...)
