COI notice

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

I'll add, if you are also the account User:Rubiesar, do not create a new account to evade your block. You must successfully appeal your block instead. Make the required disclosures; you entered into a legally-binding obligation to do so when you created an account here. Failure to disclose your relationship with the topic of your draft is what resulted in the block on this account and on Rubiesar. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:12, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hello, I own the two accounts and I am not being paid to work on the articleAniekan7777 (talk) 23:49, 27 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Thank you for the disclosure about the two accounts. However, you evaded the question about paid editing. You aren't being asked if you are paid to edit. You are asked if you are editing articles about clients who are paying you. That is a different question than what you answered, and that is what "paid editing" means here. You have been trying to publicize BJ Sam on Wikipedia for over two years, with the early versions of the draft using rather promotional language as befits a paid promoter. In addition, your other account Rubiesar apparently represents Rubies Music A&R, a business entity that engages in music promotion and management. So it stretches our credulity when you claim you are not being paid to promote your clients. ~Anachronist (talk) 00:12, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

hello, thanks for the great job you are doing, the article is about myself, the second account was created when I loss access to the first account, even now I don't have access to the email I used to create Rubiesar, I also own rubies A&R fb. I email WikiMedia earlier before rolling out and here is what they said "Thank you for contacting the Wikimedia Foundation. I understand that you are interested in having a Wikipedia article about yourself... "Should you decide to move forward with creating an article about yourself or an affiliated entity, you will maximize your chances of getting the article published if you maintain a neutral point of view, and cite reliable secondary sources supporting all information, as well as properly disclosing your affiliation with the subject of the article. As a new editor, your article will not be immediately published, but rather submitted as a draft in a queue for review by experienced editors."

I hope this information is useful. Sincerely, Nick Wilson Wikimedia Foundation".

please what else do I need to do?

At this point, you've lied to us multiple times about the nature of your edits. The claim that you lost access to Rubiesar seems like a further lie, as the account was actively editing up until it was blocked yesterday. If you file a new unblock request that explains how you will fully comply with WP:PAID and WP:SOCK and coming clean about the various falsehoods you've tried to sneak past us, you might be unblocked, but frankly at this point we have very little reason to trust you or to believe that you have any intent on this website other than self-promotion. I would suggest that you go about your PR work the normal way, in entertainment publications, and stop trying to submit your material to us. signed, Rosguill talk 18:07, 28 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Rosguill: & @Anachronist: a new sock has popped up earlier today to continue to work on the draft. It's possible that the draft may need to be deleted if the socking continues. Best, GPL93 (talk) 15:12, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Evading your block by creating another account just digs you further into the hole you've already dug yourself into. I am giving you a chance to come clean. If you are BJ Sam, why wouldn't you just create an account under that name? Transparency is appreciated here, and you have not demonstrated it. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:56, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
