Help Uploading An Image

Okay that is done. If you are going to update and add information to the article the only thing to keep in mind is that it needs to be properly referenced as per WP:V, preferably to reliable third party refs and that it needs to be encyclopedic content and not promotional content. Re: Speedy deletion

It's great that you're into reverting vandalism, but it would be helpful also if you were up to speed on the deletion process, as some vandals (like that one) create articles that need to be dealt with. If I were you, I'd read the wikipolicies on speedy deletion, proposed deletions and nominating for deletion to see when which one should be used and how to do them. Like anything in life, mastery comes with experience. You might also want to consider installing an antivandalism program like Huggle or Twinkle, which make reverting vandalism and warning and reporting vandals much easier than doing it manually. Please Help

I was about to start doing vandalism clean up this morning when I learned that someone using an account created by the same ip address that had been assigned to me by my isp was blocked. Obvious sockpuppets are obvious

When an IP self-admits to being a known sockmaster like Yourname, there's no reason to file an SPI. The IP is obvious enough so that we don't have to waste time on them.Jasper Deng (talk) 23:57, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

OK will do - This is the first time I have ever delt with a sockpuppet. I will just let the admin block the sock in these cases.

For an interesting read, check out this puppeteer who pops up every now and again to wreak havoc on Wikipedia. Thank you for the link. Looks like the sockpuppet problem is much larger than I thought when I quickly read about it a few months ago. Also I currently edit with Twinkle and am considering moving to Huggle if i can get rollback. Is there any advantage to using Huggle over Twinkle? Andrew Kurish (talk) 02:28, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Personally, I use Twinkle and it works rather well dealing with vandals, and many other house-keeping functions. Haven't used Huggle so can't register an opinion on it. --McDoobAU93 02:34, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

I suggest you stop and Speedy deletes to articles are your error rate is well above 75%. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Speedy deletions for the the criteria. Are you and that puffin geezer SERIOUSLY suggesting that I AM vandalising the List of Waterloo Road Episodes article??? Have you and him actually seen what it is i am reverting - I am getting rid of the vandalism created by someone else. Michael Stevens

The proposed deletion - which was then enacted by someone else -on the grounds of lack of "at least one reliable source" was patently a mistake.

The cited references in the article included major respected sources such as the Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, the New York Daily News, the official websites of the Kennedy Center, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (confirming the multiple Emmy awards) and HBO. The subject of the article is also clearly notable by all Wikipedia standards for BLP.

Given the above, I would appreciate you reinstating the article immediately. Thank you Davidpatrick (talk) 18:51, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

As the article should not have been deleated that quickly under the BLPPROD tag that I placed on it I decided to look in to what happened and explain it to you. Another user placed a speedy deletion tag on the article under G11 as Unambiguous advertising or promotion: unsourced biography of a living person after this tag was placed on the article an admin deleted the article under the CSD-G11 tag. As far as restoring the page is concerned you would have to ask an administrator and they may or may not do so to allow you to better develop the article.Andrew Kurish (talk) 18:57, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Please assist me in this:

Who was the person you describe above as "Another user placed a speedy deletion tag on the article"? I see only your deletion tag. And then the actual deletion by Jimfbleak. So I am unaware of the other editor you refer to.

Given that you have graciously acknowledged that the deletion was premature. And given that you can read each and every one of the 18 major reliable sources cited that attest to the validity of the facts in the article and to the undoubted notability under BLP of the subject - I would be most grateful if you could assist me in the process of applying to an admin to have this premature deletion fairly reconsidered. While I would agree that the deletion was premature had it been deleted under the BLPPROD tag within seven days of the application of the tag I do not agree that the deletion under G11 by an administrator was premature. As the article has already been deleted I have no way of determining who placed the G11 tag on the article. If you feel that this topic needs an article and you are willing to defend your position with the community I would suggest that you use Request For Creation and let the community determine if the article should be created or not.Andrew Kurish (talk) 19:14, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Masked depression

Hi, Andrew Kurish! Many thanks for your attention paid to my article about MD. But I regret to say that the expert-subject template you’ve inserted may well mislead the readers so that it should be removed. Of course, my article is very short and does not explain the details. At the same time it does not contain false information that must be discarded by an expert. To my mind, the only shortcoming of the article is associated with the fact that I relied on Russian sources. As we are in English WP, bibliography in Russian seems irrelevant here.

On the other hand, the Refimprove template would be improper, too. It is meant for indicating that there’s unsourced material in the article. My assertions, however, are supplied with appropriate sources that support my description of the phenomenon in question. It’s easy for me to name a lot of other books because the concept of MD is expounded even in textbooks for students, let alone scientific literature and handbooks for professionals. The only problem is all of my sources are written in Russian, with the consequence that I didn’t even mention them here. Perhaps we are to employ the Ambox template and write a notification that’ll be smth of the sort: "This article mainly relies on literature in Russian. Please substitute the corresponding sources in English for those in Russian." Then an English-speaking Wikipedian who is familiar with the subject-matter of my article will be able to expand its bibliography and add books in English. Personally, I haven’t got them. --SU ltd.
