Declined speedy

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I declined the speedy on Arun Alat. The reason is that by his having created multiple songs that were featured in movies, there is some notability asserted there. Now that doesn't mean that I think he's notable, just that he has just enough asserted to where he couldn't really be speedied. I think PROD or AfD is the best route for this, although I'd suggest AfD since there might be some foreign language sources out there. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:03, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Actually went and added it myself: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Arun Alat. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:07, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Advice needed on the wikipage text

Hi Ally, hope you are well. Thank you for pointing out my problems of the wikipage editing. This is the first time that I have edited a wikipage. Yi Zhou is my favorite Chinese artist and I found that her wikipage has several problems. I just tried modifying a little bit the text. Could you please kindly let me know if the text works for you now? Please feel free to let me know your advice on how to improve the text. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainy0104 (talkcontribs) 01:46, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion 2: Feitian Technologies

Hi Ally, you asked for the speedy deletion using the G4. At leat this page is not promotional anymore. My question is: Does my company name is doomed from Wikipedia because the previous attempts were not compliants? Does Feitian has a chance to be present on Wikipedia? How my content should be the same as the bad attempts since no more drawbacks were reported? THanks for your reply.NickyLarson29 (talk) 08:34, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion: Feitian Technologies

Hello AllyD. I am asking why you deleted the Feitian page. Can I suggest you to delete also those pages? Because they are 100% similar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VASCO_Data_Security_International http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safenet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA Feitian is a main player in the digital security and deserves to be treated as the links upwards. But since its chinese, nobody on wiki knows it. Feitian provides the biggest banks in the world, Bank of China and ICBC to name a few. But I didnt even talked about this on the page, to not be censored. Compare the Vasco page with the one I wrote, and if you don't delete the Vasco one it will mean that your are not loyal to your job. NickyLarson29 09:05, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Nothing to do with a job; the Feitian Technologies page was previously discussed at AfD and the community consensus was that it didn't meet Wikipedia notability criteria. Since then I see it has been deleted no less than 4 times making a total of 8 deletions. AllyD (talk) 20:06, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Linking to Wikipedia articles in other languages

Hi, I saw your comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Annagul Annakuliyeva. I also find editing Wikidata incredibly frustrating. I just use the old way, i.e. adding

[[ru:Аннакулиева, Аннагуль Аннамурадовна]]

It makes the link appear in the side bar, and a bot later goes through and sends the link to Wikidata. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 13:07, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

  • Good idea - basically using wiki notation on the Wiki rather than wrestling with its supposed improvement. And I see it has now copied through to Wikidata, successfully joining all 3 articles. AllyD (talk) 20:35, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, AllyD. I understand your comments on my recent entry for Tryten Technologies Inc. I am new to the company and understand the value of having factual information about our company on Wikipedia, but am not looking to use it as an advertising platform. I do have a personal username "jonculley". If it is possible to have the author changed to jonculley, that would be much appreciated. If I have to resubmit or if you believe that I should not be submitting this content, please let me know that as well.

External links are *not* the same as sources. Please see WP:EL: Sites that fail to meet criteria for reliable sources yet still contain information about the subject of the article from knowledgeable sources. or WP:RS/IMDB. -Halo (talk) 06:54, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

  • I was offering the softer option for an article that you have created which is entirely lacking in references, in the same way that "BLP sources" is more appropriate than "BLP unsourced" where there are own-site / IMDB ELs. But the crux of the matter is: the article needs references. Also worth disambiguating "Sean Hayes" on the page btw. AllyD (talk) 06:58, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

Please AllyD,

I am removing the references and the changes you made to the site because them are related more to her husband and their relationship than to her professional career and Ivorypress.

Please let me know if you have any inconveniences.

MarBEF Data System

Hi AllyD,

You recently tagged the above article for PROD. I have made some additional edits and added a few more sources in an attempt to address the concerns you raised. I would like to get your view of them and determine if they have adequately corrected the issue. I do intend on adding additional sections as well on the other projects within the scope or "umbrella" of MarBEF. As I mentioned in the article's talk page, over 300 other articles either directly mention MarBEF/ERMS or use them as references, so I felt like an article explaining what those acronyms were and why they were important would be helpful to other readers. Sinhgad Academy of Engineering

  • stupid sid is one of the famous website which gives best college reviews. you can check its SEO.

plus there are direct reference from DTE website which is the governing body of all engineering colleges in Maharashtra. so there should not be any issue.

  • Would you cite Stupidsid as an authority in an academic paper; what would be the reaction of the professor if you did? Again, a reliable source is somthing such as a bylined article in a recognised newspaper (Times of India, The Hindu, International Herald Tribune, etc.) AllyD (talk) 16:57, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

==Repost of Scottish Parliamentary Review

A tag has been placed on Scottish Parliamentary Review requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Hi Ally,

With respect to the Scottish Parliamentary Review, this page should not be speedily deleted because... (The previous objection to this article was that there were not sufficient other links provided; this has been remedied by additional independent links referenced both in 'References' and 'External Links'. There was a problem with how some of the External Links were added, so they seemed to be dead links, but they have been fixed and can now be accessed. The Scottish Parliamentary Review page is better sourced than 'Parliamentary Affairs', but there is no objection to that page. Why to this page?) --AmHistorian (talk) 22:15, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Dear administrator i was searching wikipedia with some word, i searched citizens unity and i got a page named citizens unity of india when i searched that name in google i found only a facebook official page, wikipedia page,a official but free webs.com site name citizens unity of india and even i got an official youtube account of this party it has no much presence in net and social networking sites but has its presence in jharkhand which is a state of india, then i contacted one of my relative who lives in jharkhand and he told me that they also know about that party then how we can determine whether a political party is suitable to be included in wikipedia or not.I also found that the age and birth year is not true on searching on the net i found his age 22 years and year 1990.--Miowbot (talk) 13:27, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? If you are concerned about the article text on Ballotpedia, then you will have to take it up with them. If you are suggesting that because something was written on Ballotpedia, that is a demonstration of sufficient notability for a biography on Wikipedia, I doubt that: it is user-submitted-content, not a WP:RS. Speedy deletion declined: 24 Hours City Florist

Hello AllyD. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of 24 Hours City Florist, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 06:14, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Obviously they know what they're doing... I doubt this goes past WP:CORP and it's the classic for-pay editing pattern, so AFD would be a good idea. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 06:15, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

G4 was correct, and it's apparently a copyvio into the bargain. I've salted both titles, and mentioned the copyvio with the repeated re-creation. Peridon (talk) 15:49, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

frameless|left|© CIArb 1996 I have been using the old logo for many years - since Bertie Vigrass authorised its use by Fellows some years before I was Chairman in 1996. I am not even sure if it is still in use.

I rather like it and I have a full size drawing (larger than this file on Wiki) if you or anyone else would like it. (By the way, I tried resizing with no success! I need to study the syntax more carefully.)

Hi, noticed you were looking at the 'Qaster' page. I'm trying to cleanup the page and make it work for existing on Wikipedia. Right now there are many pages linking to it. There is citable information/sources that provide neutral information on the company. What else can be done to remove the two boxes at the top of the page? Your help would be appreciated very much, hope you don't mind getting in touch with me. Thanks! Michaelgr43 (talk) 02:41, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Phenom Placement Consultant

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because no where the clients list, turnover of company is mentioned. Every fact is supported by reference links. This page was created for the sole purpose of addition in below categories: 1.) List of employment agencies 2.) List of employment websites 3.) Employment agencies of India 4.) Companies founded in 2011 5.) Companies of India 6.) Human Resource Management Consulting Firm

I request you to modify any statement/language if it seems promotional in nature, but do not delete the entire page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashishca07 (talkcontribs) 14:56, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Chou Pahrot

The article Chou Pahrot has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable (or notability not proven due to no references)

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SamWilson989 (talk) 19:24, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Why

Why you delete my page? What is so wrong to state that Tony Brooke (born 28th December 1972 in Norwich, United Kingdom) is, along with his wife Jo, the proprietor of Tony Brooke Carpets & Flooring, a notable company. Tony Brooke Carpets & Flooring is a family-run business based in Williton, run by husband and wife team Tony and Jo Brooke, along with their two fitters, brothers Matt and Leigh Knowles. Tony has been a carpet fitter since leaving school over 25 years ago – and knows all you need to know about flooring. They offer a wide range of flooring: carpet, vinyl, camaro, wet room flooring, rugs, mats, seagrass, astro-turf, safety flooring - you name it, they can get it. As well as their showroom in Williton, they also offer a home-choose service - Tony will come along, measure-up for you, and show you a range of sample books - all in the comfort of your own home - at no cost and no obligation. They can also help with repairs, re-adaptions, re-stretches and floor preparation and leveling too. If you’ve got an old carpet, or have just bought a new one - no problem, they'll fit it for you. Why is that a problem? Sniffdafanny (talk) 21:23, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Hi, I'm Rent A Troop. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Yuliya F., and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. Rent A Troop (talk) 08:38, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

I checked out Yuliya F. The author of the page's only reference is "Common Sense" which to me is an indicator for deletion. The bulk of the article is the author boasting about this Yuliya F. and not following the NPOV. I have added a deletion tag instead. --Rent A Troop (talk) 08:48, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
  • @User:Rent A Troop, I don't disagree about the outcome, though the article made a claim of significance (however unlikely and hyperbolic), so I was giving a bit of time with maintenance tags for the author to evidence the claims. AllyD (talk) 09:40, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

RogB Pickups

Hi, I cannot understand why you deleted my page like this. There are other pickup pages such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bare_Knuckle_Pickups. Why can they have a Wiki page?

I had only just put it up and was going to add to it, references etc, you didn't give me a chance!

I have no copy of it, as it was deleted without warning or notice The Naughty Badger (talk) 14:31, 27 March 2015 (UTC).

A new reference tool

Hello Books & Bytes subscribers. There is a new Visual Editor reference feature in development called Citoid. It is designed to "auto-fill" references using a URL or DOI. We would really appreciate you testing whether TWL partners' references work in Citoid. Sharing your results will help the developers fix bugs and improve the system. If you have a few minutes, please visit the testing page for simple instructions on how to try this new tool. Regards, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:47, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

TWL HighBeam check-in

Hello Wikipedia Library Users,

You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your HighBeam account; if you are having trouble feel free to contact me for more information. When your access expires you can reapply at WP:HighBeam.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed. For more information about citing this source, see Wikipedia:HighBeam/Citations
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.

Thank you. Sent by MediaWiki message delivery (talk) at 16:46, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Oath of Genesis

Hello AllyD. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Oath of Genesis, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is probably not notable and is written as an advert, but A7 does not apply to software. Recommend AFD. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:17, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, this wasn't for you obviously, it was for Yash!. The script picks the last editor who placed a tag and you had restored it. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:18, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
