Categories edit

I don't understand the category that you created (Category:Women Do News). "Women Do News" is a catchy name for a project, but it is not appropriately named to communicate meaning to readers. What's also concerning is that you've added many articles to Category:WikiProject Women Do News. A WikiProject is not an appropriate category for an article. Please undo your category edits. Schazjmd (talk) 00:03, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your correction, do you advise i use (Category:Women Do News) instead for the project we are working on? and please how do i undo Category:WikiProject Women Do News AgnesAbah (talk) 00:12, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Go to the edit history for each article that you added the category to, and undo or revert your edit.
Projects can be added to article talk pages. Don't use administrative project categories on article pages. Schazjmd (talk) 00:13, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

All of these articles should be categorized on their talk pages, by using the Women Do News Project banner, and they appear to be categorized in that way already. We do not use WikiProject categories on articles themselves, only on their talk pages. The categories on the articles should all be removed. —David Eppstein (talk) 00:13, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

ok AgnesAbah (talk) 00:18, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
It looks like David Eppstein has undone your edits for you and both categories are cleared of articles, so it's all good now. Schazjmd (talk) 00:32, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Women Do News edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Women Do News indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 01:17, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Liz sorry for my late response i created this Category:Women Do News for a volunteer group i belong and our aim is to write article about underepresented female Journalist on wikipedia this is our project page on meta https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Women_Do_News still a work in progress and our website is https://womendonews.org/ we have a Category:WikiProject Women Do News articles and i intend to re create Category:Women Do News and promise to populate this time not leaving it empty AgnesAbah (talk) 22:17, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please read the messages above. Don't use categories for a project on articles. You can add a project banner to article talk pages. Schazjmd (talk) 22:25, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thats not what i want to do this time i just want to create a category that will contain artcles about articles we have added so far to wikipedia i dont intend to use Category for a project take for example Category:Countries in Africa that just contains articles about countries in Africa but if its not allowed i wont create it
