The Surrey Women's County Football Team, is a football team that represents the English county of Surrey. They are affiliated with WUFA, and therefore compete in the WUFA Women's World Unity Cup. They are not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA, and therefore cannot compete for the FIFA Women's World Cup or the UEFA Women's European Championships. International Surrey Football is not affiliated with ConIFA and therefore cannot compete in ConIFA Women's World Football Cup.

Surrey does not have an official home stadium and plays at various venues throughout the region, and their training headquarters is at Merrist Wood College, Worplesdon near Guildford. The team's manager is Stephen Satterly.

History

Formed in 2019, the Surrey Women's County Football Team was intended to provide non-FIFA playing opportunities to women's players in the county similar to the team launched in 2014 for the surrey men's players. In January 2019 the team announced its coaching staff of Manager Stephen Satterly, Assistant Manager Leah Ambridge and coach Mike Parsonson. In February 2020, International Surrey Football announced a sponsorship and partnership arrangement with the Surrey base educational football development programme at Merrist Wood College which would also see the college become the team's home shirt sponsors.

Kit and Crest

Surrey plays in a yellow and blue kit, inverting the shirt, short and socks between their home and away, home with a two-toned yellow chequered shirt, and the away in blue. Colours and style are taken from the flag of Surrey. The Surrey badge, a modified version of the men's badge, features a female red deer, a hind, (without antlers), an iconic animal in Surrey.

Home Stadium

The Surrey County Football Association own and operate the Meadowbank Stadium in Dorking, Mole Valley, which is home to Dorking Wanderers Football Club and serves as a venue for the Surrey FA's various county cup finals as well as being available to the local community to hire as well, effectively serving as Surrey's de jure home venue. Prior to the completion of the Meadowbank Stadium, Surrey County Cups were held at various across the county with the Surrey Senior Cup being played most recently at grounds such as Gander Green Lane, Imber Court, Kingsmeadow and Kingfield.

However, International Surrey Football does not have a designated national stadium and instead operates on a policy of rotating its home venue between fixtures as much as possible to provide wider coverage for fans to watch the team, often including a discount for fans of the club that operates the venue. The rotation policy applies to each Surrey team separately, the 3 regions Surrey is split between are Surrey London (Historic areas of Surrey that now form part of Greater London), East Surrey comprising of the boroughs of Mole Valley, Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead and Tandridge and West Surrey comprising of the borough of Runnymede, Surrey Heath, Woking, Elmbridge, Guildford and Waverley. The borough of Spelthorne, while a borough of Surrey was historically a borough of Middlesex and so it typically excluded from the ground rotation policy. This policy also allows for local clubs to host Surrey games as a new form of revenue with pitch hire fees being paid to a number of clubs operating their own facilities that do not typically offer their ground for hire to private groups.

On April 2nd, International Surrey Football announced that Merrist Wood College would host a 2-week training camp for both men's and women's teams, facilitated due to the college's sponsorship of Surrey's women's team, and would host several games for both teams. The decision to base both teams at the further education college as part of their return to play, would allow the college to serve as ISF's base, comparable to The Football Association's St George's Park National Football Centre, for the purpose of training and preparing for tournaments, but other sites in Surrey may still be used.
