Thanks for reverting edits by 24.111.1.182. Please check the page for 24.111.1.182 - he's been a vandal since 2008. Can we block him? Robotics1 (talk) 20:56, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Tobacco IP

Hello KylieTastic,

Let me begin by saying that I completely understand your response to these edits. I really hate tobacco, and blame the tobacco companies for the premature deaths of both of my parents, who were nicotine addicts. But I think this IP editor was acting in good faith. These are real tobacco brand names, there was no spamming of websites going on, and the IP added the brand names to existing lists of tobacco brand names at Chewing tobacco and Dipping tobacco. I will not revert your reversions, but I encourage you to consider self-reverting. I wish you well. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:11, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Cullen. I agree with you, after due consideration I also think it probably was good faith editing rather than someone working to promote the tobacco industry as I first thought. I decided not to revert due to the fact that I still think disambiguation pages are not for endless lists of non-notable brands. I have however apologised on User talk:72.210.75.53 for my harshness and joined Fuhghettaboutit in pointing them to the discussion in the Teahouse. Sorry to hear about your parents, and thanks for the input. KylieTastic (talk) 11:35, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Ambivalence and Clarity

Hello, Kylie. I got the note that you reversed my edits because they didn't seem constructive. I'm sorry they appeared that way and I appreciate you letting me know. Would you please reconsider if I explain the reasons for the edits? The first sentence under "Munchkinlanders," for example, doesn't make clear if Frexpar is Elphaba's or Melena's father. Those of us who've read the book know who he is. But if you read it from the perspective of someone who hasn't, then you really can't tell. Beyond that, I just tightened up the language so that your ideas would shine without being clouded by the dust of redundancy, because you covered the plot really well. I can't go into more detail unless I can see exactly what I wrote, but if I could see that I could tell you the reason for every edit.

  • Hi 71.197.122.153! Well I just looked at the edit, and all I can say is I'm sorry, the edit looks fine and that should not have been reverted! I was just as confused by my revert, so I've just been checking a dozen or so reverts I made before and after yours just in case... but they are the normal obvious vandalism I patrol the 'recent changes' for! I'm not excusing my mistake but to try to guess why it happened I would have to surmise: it was late (after midnight); I had had a few drinks; The mindless vandals on here were depressing me; and so I think I just saw the addition to the end of the paragraph "This stranger was actually the Wizard of Oz." and thought someone was trolling. I should have checked the context, and not just reacted to what just looked like a random weird statement. So again I apologise. KylieTastic (talk) 09:17, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

You undid my vandalism. Bully for you. Look at the page you left behind. Read the barely intelligible pidgin English. Read the comments on the talk page.

That such a pathetic car-crash of a page exists is down to you. Wikipedia (and its contributors) is/are nothing short of a joke. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.88.4.28 (talk) 22:31, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

  • I 100% agree that there are far too many "car-crash" pages on here. So why not try to fix the issues rather than just add "FUCK WIKIPEDIA" type comments. If you care (and I believe you do) then help us fight against the bad information on here and not just add to the problem. KylieTastic (talk) 22:36, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
    • Rather ironic that our 'friend' castigates WP about the page, does nothing to fix it, and then appears to have mis-spelt the persons name! Is this how the French get a reputation for rudeness? I wonder if they speak with an "ootraygoose Fronche axesunt", or maybe I have seen too much Monty Python, or 'Allo 'Allo   -£- 220 of Borg 03:50, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
      • Unfortunately the vandals that complain about WP hardly ever turn from the dark side and edit for the good  , and I'll have to correct your last edit.... it's not possible to watch too much Monty Python - please refrain from such assertions without citing a reputable source   KylieTastic (talk) 09:29, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

please can you hold off from deleting these as I shall be amending them soon. Graemp (talk) 13:51, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Graemp, I see from your contribution page your talking about the political figures that keep popping up as missing (deleted from commons.) I was thinking it was a shame to see all these guys being deleted. I'd rather have images fixed than removed, so its cool to hear you think you can re-upload and get them accepted for use. If I see any political figures I'll leave them for a bit.... with over 10,000+ broken links plenty of others to correct. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 14:42, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Remarks for Revision

Why did you revert my change? You are not owner of Wikipedia. :( --FSCEM45212 (talk) 08:56, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Who claimed to be an owner? If your talking about Admiral I was just fixing what I assume was an accidental mistake. If your look at your actual version here [[1]] then you'll see you broke the article from the end of the gallery down. You removed the end of the gallery, and added a second Template:Reflist when one existed in the 'notes' section above it. KylieTastic (talk) 09:03, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Hey, you're working really hard on the backlog at Category:Articles with missing files. I'm glad that I can collaborate with you on this. I think we're going to have some difficulties with the change I (we both) made at Elysian Fields Avenue. I'm discussing this at User talk:Britinvasion64. I'm happy to be collaborating with you! - tucoxn\talk 20:22, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

  • It's a huge backlog, and tbh I've been burning out, it would be really good to have help! I'm really not sure why that guy wants to point at a road that just does not exist? As far as I was aware that linking to re-directs was frowned on. But it wont be the first damn road sign I've have to create to fix one of these issues :) KylieTastic (talk) 21:52, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Hi, If you've got a moment can you see what you think of what Dias Azimzhanov has done to Visa requirements for Kazakhstani citizens (and same on Kazakhstani passport) - they broke the image and links - but I'm a bit cautious on these cultural issues (even if it is an un-sourced assertion) - apart from that making progress on the images, just in case the world ends :) - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 22:15, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
  • I made a couple changes to that page and made some other page moves, which should solve the problem. You're right about the image, of course, but that user is also right that the correct demonym for someone from Kazakhstan is Kazakh, not Kazakhstani. I'm not much of a WP:talk page stalker, so you might want to leave me a {{Talkback}} next time, as I didn't see this until after I fixed the problem.   Thanks! - tucoxn\talk 02:57, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Cheers for fixing up this - I really wasn't sure which way to go (revert, or do change properly), it just seamed really strange that such a fundamental issue can go this long without being fixed which made me doubtful. Still learning the WP ways of things - will go look at {{Talkback}} - Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 10:12, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Hmmmm {{Talkback}} looks a bit of a cludgy way to communicate, but yes watching talk pages is not good either. I was wondering if the alert you get when you mention someone in a post was a good one to use? i.e. just say Hi Tucoxn - or maybe the alert is another option people can/do turn off? KylieTastic (talk) 10:30, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Using someone's username to ping them is a relatively new feature but it works rather well. Some users turned off the notifications feature because when it was originally implemented it removed the orange bar talk-page notification. Otherwise, as you get more experienced, you'll see that there are plenty of things that seem like obvious changes that were never made. Sometimes there's a good reason that the change was never implemented but sometimes there isn't. Regarding the Kazakhstan-related pages, I'll watch them for a while and see if any problems come up after the move and corrections. - tucoxn\talk 19:50, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

About a small revert

Hi KylieTastic. I noticed that you reverted my small change in the caption in Jesus Trail. I had originally changed it from "View on Sea of Galilee..." to "View of Sea of Galilee...". Then you subsequently changed it back. It just struck me as a very strange construction. Perhaps you meant to say "View over Sea of Galilee..." or maybe "View across Sea of Galilee..." or "Looking down on the Sea of Galilee..."? One can certainly say "Boat on the Sea of Galilee" but not really "View on the Sea of Galilee". If I am wrong, please feel free to let me know why. Many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 00:42, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

I see you said in the edit summary that my change "broke the image". So... maybe did I accidentally change the name of the image instead of the caption? If so then it is a simple matter to change the caption as intended. Thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 00:48, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Invertzoo, Yes that's all it was - your change [3] was only to the file name and not the caption. I was just fixing up issues on Articles with missing files so just saw it pop as a new error so just reverted. I have made your change to the caption now. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 10:24, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Ah, OK, thanks! I should know better than to edit when I am waiting to eat; i guess low glucose levels lead to forgetting to check for daft errors! Thanks again, Invertzoo (talk) 14:27, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Tartan reference

Hi Kylie, I tried to correct a tartan name on The Calgary Highlanders page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Calgary_Highlanders but you reverted it, probably because I didn't explain why I did it. The description of the tartan beneath the photo says that it is the Government or Campbell tartan, which is incorrect. It is the Government or Grant tartan, not Campbell. Following the link in the same description takes you to the Tartan page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartan where it is correctly described as the Government or Grant tartan. I was just trying to correct the description on the Calgary Highlanders page to be consistent and accurate. Please take a look and consider allowing my edit. Thank you. 70.72.95.164 (talk) 19:06, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi [Special:Contributions/70.72.95.164|70.72.95.164]], The main reason I reverted the change was because you changed the file name, not just the caption and that just broke the image - [4]. However then I had a look about thinking maybe it was named wrong and it was just an accident changing the file as well as the description. However looking up tartans on a Scottish shop site that has a lookup shows Blank Watch as [5], Grant as [6], and Campbell as[7]. So firstly there is no single tartan each however - that image looks like the 'Black Watch Modern Tartan', 'Grant Hunting Modern Tartan', and also the 'Campbell Clan Modern'. So I can see where the confusion has come from! KylieTastic (talk) 19:49, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
    • P.S to link nicely to wiki articles you can just put the article in double square brackets - so The_Calgary_Highlanders and Tartan KylieTastic (talk) 19:49, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
      • DOH! The I thought to look for official registries and found [8] - So looks like Black Watch or Grant Hunting is probably the most accurate, and it just looks like some Campbell versions (hence the image name). So in the context of this use your perfectly correct, so yes please Do update the caption (just not the image name unless you want to go actually put the request in for the image to be renamed) - Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:49, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

ok thanks Kylie, done 70.72.95.164 (talk) 18:53, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

You may also be interested in this discussion with the creator of several images of Australian Jerseys, as well as the result of this deletion discussion at Commons: commons:Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Rugby league jerseys. - tucoxn\talk 05:23, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
Hi Tucoxn - I had previously found the commons deletion stuff on the Australian Jerseys, and it appeared to be a done issue. It was a bit sad as people has obviously put a lot of effort in to the creation and use of them. However most of the articles with new red-linked ones already had most of the jerseys already missing (commons delinker) so it would take a dedicated fan to go back to all those articles and add them back in. Also I saw no sign that anyone had tried to add them as fair use on en.wikipedia, so I'd assume they had just got disheartened and walked away. Personally I would have replaced the images with simpler representations with colour blocks to stop the rot - but by the time I realised the damage was not already too far gone. Wilshire Boulevard Temple Image

Hi there. Hope I am doing this correctly as I have never added to a user talk page before. I added an image of the dome at Wilshire Blvd Temple to illustrate the text in the article - The image seemed totally relevant, and yet it was deleted? (For reference: the text reads " The prayer inscribed in Hebrew around the Oculus, at the apex of the interior coffered dome, comes from the shm'a prayer, a centerpiece of all Jewish prayer services. The words read: Shm'a Yisroael, Adonoi Eloheinu, Adonaoi Echad; which translates to "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One."" And then I had a photo showing exactly that). In any case, I wanted to explain this and hope the image gets replaced. Herzco (talk) 09:39, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Herzco - The talk page communication is a bit confusing at first (and far from perfect) - The simplest way if it's a new issue then just to click the 'New Section' option (at the top next to the edit). New sections are always at the bottom, and the same for adding to an existing one - add at the bottom (indent responses with colons or asterisks). Also if you expect an answer remember to watch the page (I tend to try to put users names in replies so you get a mention popup as well) - Hope that helps! KylieTastic (talk) 11:50, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
    • Ok now on to the question about the Wilshire Boulevard Temple picture. Always look at the results of an edit, especially when starting out, the results are not always what you expected! Look at your version here [9] - the picture is not showing, its red-linked (which is how I found it as it popped up on Articles with missing files). The reason is you can not directly link to external images - this is called hot-linking and does not work on WP. To add the image it needs to be either uploaded to commons.wikimedia.org if copyright free, or for some cases you can use 'fair use' and upload on here (en.wikipedia) starting here Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard. As the website name is your user name I assume this is your picture? In which can you can upload to commons if your willing to donate it copyright free - start here [10]. As I notice you have a 'Licensing' section on your website and may not want to donate as is, consider donating a smaller version free - this means WP gets a usable picture, and the file page can have a link back to your website where you can still sell full size images. Nice picture by the way :) Hope that helps? Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 11:50, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Unexpected message

KylieTastic I have just received a message claiming that you had reverted my edit to an article about Armani. I am not registered, so cannot make any changes. Needless to say I am now confused and less than happy. The message was quite polite but it was still a reproof for something of which I am not currently capable.92.17.75.95 (talk) 19:04, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi 92.17.75.95, firstly just because you are not registered does not mean you cannot change articles, you can edit them the same way you edited this page. Wikipedia has a very open policy and most content is editable by 'anonymous' users. The change in question was this: [11] and it was logged that this IP address edited the page changing Armani to Arman at 19:06 on 14 October 2013. As it was over a month ago I would assume what has happened is that the IP address you have at the moment was assigned to another user by your ISP at that time. I can imagine for most people its a shock getting warnings for things you haven't done, but until the internet is updated this happens now and then. I'm just glad it wasn't a bad vandal that had done this, or worse, to many articles as the warning messages get more direct. Sorry for the shock, All the best KylieTastic (talk) 23:28, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Daniel Quinn Image

Hi Kylie,

I am having difficulty uploading my new photo on my Wikipedia homepage. I have the photo on my personal website danielquinn.net, and on my homepage on IMDb.com. I own the picture, the picture is only of me, so I don't know why it's being rejected. The image I had up on Wikipedia was also removed for some reason. I also don't know how to find it in the upload file it as a thumbnail. The Wikipedia site makes it extremely difficult to figure out how to navigate into each file. I would appreciate any help you can give me in this matter. That thumbnail image I'm trying to post is DQ_ CU.JPEG.

Thank you, best regards, Daniel Quinn — Preceding unsigned comment added by Queenmab819 (talkcontribs) 13:39, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi, Queenmab819, I can't see any image called DQ_ CU.JPEG (or anything similar) even a deleted one, but I did find the image you uploaded at commons File:Daniel_Quinn.jpg - I have added this to Daniel Quinn (actor). As for why an image would be rejected I'm not an expert and have had my own arguments with commons copyright protectors. What you have to be aware of is we get a lot of images uploaded by people claiming its there own work, or that they have the copyright, or they are the person when they clearly are not. If your talking about File:Daniel Quinntwick.jpeg it was removed as it was just taken from another website [12] so no reason to believe it wasn't just stolen. If your talking about File:Daniel Quinn Nov,2013.jpeg then there was a message on your talk page User talk:Queenmab819 pointing out you can email in permission (but this is not an area I know or have used). Finally a way to get around copyright problems is to publish the image on your site with notes saying that it commons CC-BY licensed [13], or onto Flickr.com with that licence. Hope this helps KylieTastic (talk) 15:15, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you Kylie, that was the image I was wanting to upload. I appreciate all your help. On my website danielquinn.net, I wouldn't know how to put the licensing information on it. I can speak to my admin about it, but there really isn't a page on my site that shows licensing. Again, I appreciate all your help. Have a very happy upcoming holiday season. All the best, Daniel Quinn — Preceding unsigned comment added by Queenmab819 (talkcontribs) 19:02, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Daniel, Your very welcome. Hopefully you wont have any issues, but if you do just talk to whoever at commons and they should be able to advise better on the easiest way to validate things (as many people don't have access, or the knowledge to change their official website, etc). All the best — KylieTastic (talk) 19:10, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

File deletion discussion

Hi, I note that you recently contributed to the image deletion discussion of an image that I uploaded. [1929 John Warburton Beckett.jpg] Thank you for your contribution. The same user who listed it for deletion has now listed another of my uploads for deletion. [1910s Wilfrid Ashley.jpg] I would also appreciate your contribution to this discussion.Graemp (talk) 20:30, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Graemp, this is really starting to get me down... I hate the people who just steal images, and agree with the WP goal of wanting 100% 'free' images on WP - but fighting over rare images that are freely licensed for the use on WP is just baffling with so many real copyright issues going on. I added to the thread, but on second look maybe not as level headed a reply as I should have made (really really bad day). I haven't had any issue with the ones I have uploaded, so I don't know if you have become a target or if its because the link back to the original page for them to verify wasn't included. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 22:11, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Stefan2 is at it again. Now he has asked for the deletion of the following two images I have recently uploaded. File:1902 Cathcart Wason.jpg and File:1928 Hilda Runciman.jpg. He may be justified on technicalities, but I would welcome your views on both. In the case of Runciman, a comparison could be made with File:1stLordGainford.jpg a file uploaded to Commons. Hi. You just reversed an edit on African Jacana. The image you have put back is blurred and over-exposed. Have I missed something? 22:52, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Charlesjsharp, it popped up in Category:Articles with missing files that I patrol for vandalism etc, and when I looked no image showed, and non came up when I searched! So I reverted, now I look and your correct the image exists and is better - odd! I would blame too much alcohol on my part if I was just change patrolling, but it popped up as being a red-linked image - so WP must have just have an 'issue' - very odd! • Hi Bgwhite - Sorry, just frustrated at how many broken images I've been repairing over the last few weeks labelled AWB - I had assumed it was an issue with the tool not necessarily the users! The comment wasn't meant as personal - but as you took it that way I am sorry, I really didn't mean it that way - it's just really frustrating when the 'good guys' fixing things, break things. I'm not sure how a white-list of articles would help, as I had assumed that the problem was more generic that the tool didn't make it clear what sections were text and which were links. Fundamentally I think it's an issue that WP edits that cause bad-links of any sort are not highlighted clearly to the editor (certainly it would have stopped a number of my mistakes). Both immediate notification, and/or something like BracketBot. I've had a few too many drinks and shouldn't have let things get to me, so again sorry. KylieTastic (talk) 00:10, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Fredddie, Thanks for the heads up - yet another group I never knew existed - Thanks — KylieTastic (talk) 12:49, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

You fixed the broken image link before I could even upload the image! You're much too fast for me. -Ich (talk) 21:25, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey Ich sorry about that, just fixing things and it popped up — KylieTastic (talk) 21:28, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Kurt Danziger

I refer to your decision to remove an image from the page on Kurt Danziger. The page already contains images of the front covers of four copyrighted books but an image of the front cover of a newsletter that is not subject to copyright is considered unacceptable. Where is the logic in that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Turnbullslane (talkcontribs) 01:49, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Turnbullslane, I only removed the 'red-link' to the file from the article (i.e. as it looks here [16]) - I did not actually delete the file. The file deletion notice can be seen here [17] and was by Commons user Fastily, who had flagged the copyright issue on your commons talk page here [18] on the 2nd Dec.
  • As for the other images the first 3 in the Biography are not on Commons, which requires copyright free images, but locally on en.wikipedia.org used under fair use. I'm relatively new around here myself and no expert on what can and cannot be used under fair use, but you probably could use the image on the article if you upload locally.... but the place to start for image upload help is WP:UPIMAGE. The Upload file link is under the 'Tools' section on the left of all WP pages. One thing I would note is 'Cover 002' is a vague name, if you do upload again (or other images) consider renaming first as more descriptive. I hope that helps, if not consider asking over at the Teahouse where they have more experienced helpers. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 13:10, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

Photos for the Egyptian Exchange

Hi Kylie,

Thanks a lot for taking out the file that was not working. I wanted to post in the article photos of the old and new building of the exchange but got baffled with the ownership criteria of wikipedia. The photos are available on the official website of the Egyptian Exchange, and I believe that makes it of public use. Specially that most the photos are more than 100 years old anyways.

appreciate your help in sorting this out.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alsherif.wahdan (talkcontribs) 20:12, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Alsherif.wahdan, Wikipedia image usage is confusing unless its an image you took yourself, or has a clear statement of being copyright free. Generally if its just on another website with no 'free' license they are likely to be rejected. If all comes down to all the different copyright laws of each country. I see you did actually upload a picture to commons File:Location of the Alexandria Exchange.jpg was it this one you were trying to add in that location? If so you had used the file name of just 'Alexandria Stock Exchange' not 'Location of the Alexandria Exchange.jpg' so just add again with the correct name. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 20:25, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Oh that is why! Well thank you! I will do that!

No problem

I don't have a problem with that spelling of lodi. but some people spell lodi into many different ways. for example, lodi, ludhi. lodhi. ludi etc. but they pronounce at the same way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wearelodi (talkcontribs) 19:54, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi, Wearelodi - Firstly it is always helpful if you say what article your referring to as it's not always easy to tell. I'm assuming this is about Ibrahim Lodi - The reason I reverted was firstly because you broke an image, and left no edit comment for the change. So it them looked 50/50 on being just vandalism or someone pushing there minor point of view. Thirdly as the title is Lodi, either there is reason to move the article to another spelling or it just confuses readers. Lastly on the article Lodi dynasty they are also called Ibrahim Lodi not Ibrahim Ludi. It is really confusing when there is no correct name for a person (place or thing) but it's better to add to the article lead about the options than just have people toggle the spelling back and forth. The Ibrahim Lodi article could benefit from a statement of the alternative spellings if you feel like adding. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 20:12, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

3 Malasyan Roads

Just making sure you're aware of my request at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Shields task force/Requests. My older edits to Jalan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kota Kinabalu, Jalan Masjid KLIA, and Jalan Padang Besar-Bukit Kuan Choh were reverted and I'm looking at having the articles repaired a different way. As a result, they might be in the backlog for a little while. - tucoxn\talk 22:28, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey Tucoxn, I did notice a lot of those Jkr- popping up, odd to remove a blank plate to prefer a red-link! Plus the articles say section empty since 'January 2011 but created this year! Your probably going to get them complain on WP:USRD/S/R that you should have posted to WP:HWY/RM.... even though its probably going to be the same people do them a anyway. I'm currently getting 30-80 new Articles with missing files a day which is making clearing it ever slower. Just shows two fundamental issues need to be fixed: images added to templates need to not flag up, and the damn Commons Delinker needs to remove more! I've decided I'm going to try to clear it completely then take a WP break. Currently looking like 2-3 months more work to clear KylieTastic (talk) 00:06, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for catching the edit that broke the image at Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center. I should have spotted it before pressing save! Delsion23 (talk) 23:36, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

John Laurance Manning

name is spelled wrong on his page, I tried to change it, but you said it wasnt constructive. It is spelled the way I have it wrote above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.211.108.240 (talk) 23:14, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi 24.211.108.240, The first source [19] gives it as Lawrence not Laurance; The second source no longer works; The third source [20] mentions John Lawrence Manning. So as the only working references have the name spelt Lawrence not Laurance you would need to give a good source for why the other spelling was actually the correct one? I'm not saying your wronging (many things are on WP) but you gave no reason for the change and the sources disagree with you. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 23:52, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
  • I have updated the article based on [21] to show that the alternative spelling exists. KylieTastic (talk) 23:59, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Harnad0anti-fur.jpg

Dear KylieTastic, thanks for letting me know. I have now written this to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org

Dear Permissions,

This concerns:

Harnad0anti-fur.jpg[edit]

Hi, I saw your request for deletion has been archived Undeletion requests/Archive/2013-12 but there was no indication that you had seen the last message and emailed COM:OTRS. I'm not 100% sure on the process myself, so not sure if you can just email on your reply from IDA, or they have to email direct. Just thought I'd point this out in case you had not seen the update after you posted the email directly on the request. Cheer — KylieTastic (talk) 11:03, 24 December 2013 (UTC)

I had mistakenly posted the reply on the image's talk page instead of sending it to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, and the image was removed. I am now sending it to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with apologies, and requesting that the image be un-deleted.

Many thanks,

Stevan Harnad

Hi Steven,

Wow! I had no idea they were so strict! Yes, the poster is ours and we give you permission to use the picture with it. I am hoping this is enough and I don't need to create an account/log in myself, but if somehow someone here needs to do that, please let me know exactly what I need to do.

Thanks!

I hope this will re-instate the image. --Stevan Harnad 13:46, 24 December 2013 (UTC) --Stevan Harnad 13:33, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello!

I did not see any pictures of factories,so i I thought I should add some in every model, but if you dont like it ,then its fine! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tanello2 (talkcontribs) 12:45, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Hi Tanello2, If your trying add pictures of factories that's fine go ahead. but you added File:lol6.jpg which isn't a valid picture as was deleted 24 November 2012 - Because the file name contained 'lol' it looked like somebody just vandalising. If you can find any relevant pictures please add and improve away :) Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 12:50, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

Oops!

I thought I had rechecked those to avoid just what you had to fix. Ah, well... thank you! Shenme (talk) 19:51, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Shenme, No problem - happens to us all :) KylieTastic (talk) 19:52, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

About Catharanthus roseus

Could you review the edit of Luky36o in Catharanthus roseus article? This user removed the name rosy periwinkle. --Hopeoflight (talk) 16:33, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi Hopeoflight, I had a look and agree, no reason for removal - in fact used fairly recently in discussion on cancer treatments. Cheers — KylieTastic (talk) 16:40, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick step.
