Machine Translations
editIt appears to me as if these are mostly or all machine translations. If anyone can help translate these more idiomatically, that would certainly be appreciated. Agtx (talk) 17:28, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
- It is much, much, worse than that. The Japanese one for example, is simply gibberish, and I shall replace it with a very brief summary of what it is trying to say. Imaginatorium (talk) 17:23, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

Remove or temporarily hide the parts For a translation of the above message, ....[[Template:Welcome_non-latin/Translations#.D7.99.D7.99.D6.B4.D7.93.D7.99.D7.A9|איבערזעצונג]]{{flagicon|Israel}}
. The translations provided are completely nonsense & gibberish, I can say that by reading Template:Welcome non-latin/Translations § हिंदी (Hindi) & Template:Welcome non-latin/Translations § বাংলা (Bengali). I can fix them, but not the other languages. Apparently, something similar was noted by other editors way back in 2015 at Template talk:Welcome non-latin/Translations. I'm afraid other languages there make no grammatical sense at all. Thus, remove or hide the parts until they're fixed. Thanks! ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 11:08, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: Change "As it is not in Latin script, it may not display correctly for many other users." to "As it is not in Latin script, it may not display correctly for a few other users." Technology has advanced enough that only a few people would have an issue.

- The language at that guideline reads: "non-Latin scripts, such as Arabic, Georgian, Chinese, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Indic scripts, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Thai and others, are illegible to most other contributors to the English Wikipedia." That language makes sense to me, and we should probably match this template's wording to the guideline. How about "As it is not in Latin script, it may be illegible to most other contributors to the English Wikipedia."? – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:09, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95 As in, "people can't read it." That makes sense, too. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 01:23, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
