no clear, to remove the redirect to "-"

edit

This template {{Br}} recently redirects to {{-}} (let's call clearing-br). But these shall not be the same! The clearing-br is sometime helpful, OK, but sometimes I would rather need just BR, no clear.

We can compare these two EN templates to another interwiki sister templates: I.e. see the CS templates cs:Šablona:- and compare it to cs:Šablona:Br.

I suggest to change the EN Template:Br to behave the same way as the CS version. --Franta Oashi (talk) 21:08, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Also, you can see this talk page, as I feel it could be related: Template_talk:-#Time_to_make_this_bad_idea_right --Franta Oashi (talk) 21:08, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Should redirect to Template:Clear. It is a double redirect. Template:Br redirects to Template:- which redirects to Template:Clear and this creates line: 1. redirectTemplate:Clear in every article Template:Br is used. And it is used in many articles: Pages that link to "Template:Br" as it is used in Navboxes Template:Current APEC Leaders etc. Klõps (talk) 13:47, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please move the redirect category to the 3rd line of the redirect per the guidelines for redirects and the guidelines for redirect categories. Thank you. {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk} 19:12, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it makes any difference to the output? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:34, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Edit request to complete RfD nomination

edit

Template:Br has been listed at Redirects for discussion (nomination), but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:

{{subst:rfd|showontransclusion=1|content=

to the top of the page and }} to the bottom to complete the nomination. Thank you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 22:22, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Does {{rfd}} support showontransclusion=1? If yes, does that mean the RfD notice will be displayed on all transclusions (if I'm not mistaken, this currently happens by default anyway)? This would lead to widespread disruption, given that this template is used for minor formatting in a lot of places. – Uanfala (talk) 03:27, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Tamzin added the RfD tag (without showing on transclusions). Whether to show the tag on transclusions is being discussed elsewhere, so closing this edit request. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:52, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
