A fact from Ysleta Mission appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 April 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

Untitled
edit- the oldest continuously cultivated plot of land in the United States. Is this because the inhabitants of Acoma, New Mexico, and Old Oraibi, Arizona, are "Indians" and don't count? Wikipedia has an article Oldest buildings in the United States.--Wetman (talk) 03:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "indians"? It's evident you did not read the article otherwise you'd know that the Ysleta Mission was established for and in the Tigua Pueblo who happen to be "indians"... texasPI TALK 21:57, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

NRHP rating
editI have to agree with RvanWinkle on the C rating for the NRHP project. I can't get the Historical marker links to work, but the claim "to have the oldest continuously cultivated plot of land in the United States" seems exceptionally dubious. I want to know more about the move from Isleta - what happened during this period, the founding years of the mission? There's info on the drawings at the LOC site that could be included. Also some of the photos there are much better than the ones that were included here. Information from the NRHP nomination form (the one thing I could get to work at the Texas Historical Commission site) could be more fully included. Much of the info I could check is from newspapers and the magazine. Is there any info on this from books? Please try google books and archive.com.
A lot of work obviously went into this article. A bit more, with a less promotional tone could easily get it to a B. Smallbones (talk) 15:28, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- "The Mission today" section is missing a citation for the last sentence. Otherwise, I would rate this class B. It might also be a good idea to expand the intro paragraph by about 2 sentences. This is a nice article. Djmaschek (talk) 05:57, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Ysleta Mission. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20110721060410/http://nrhp.focus.nps.gov/natregsearchresult.do?fullresult=true&recordid=0 to http://nrhp.focus.nps.gov/natregsearchresult.do?fullresult=true&recordid=0
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).
