stuffing?
editthis may just be me, but when i've heard people talking about this person, it is generally about how he, in his interest of the(endangered, even?) birds, killed and stuffed them, and formed his own private 'museum'. A brief look over of his name in google seemed to indicate that most sites considered this a significant thing about this guy… so i just thought it might be worth mentioning. though i admit i dont reeally know.. (oh, and i added a title thing to the other guys comment (below) to make more clear that there was a gap.. sorry, person!)
son of man?
editThe line reads, "He was the son of man that helped convert the Tonga into Methodists." I assume this should read, "the son of the man" (or better yet, "His father helped convert"?); to call Sir Buller the Son of Man makes him sound a lot more important than he probably was! :)

editAccording to me, John Gerrard Keulemans is the only artist contributing to A History of the Birds of New-Zealand. --HWN 18:22, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
Extinction
editIn relation to the "stuffing" comment above and a recent edit, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Walter_Buller&curid=598528&diff=1132844975&oldid=1127997106, I think you will find it is a bit of an urban myth that Buller is responsible more than any other for the extinction of the Huia. Eg see these references https://www.nzherald.co.nz/whanganui-chronicle/news/conservation-comment-what-became-of-the-huia/WGIUEVV7RN5K3FFHKOVCDBWSPY/ https://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/huia https://teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/13671/huia --Tony Wills (talk) 01:16, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
