I'm surprised that there is such little background talk about this man. After reading of his part in inflaming the Able Archer incident with lies to his own presedent, men like him instead of being imprisoned, should have been publicly exposed (at the time in 1991), tried in public, stood up against a wall and shot. If for no other reason than to act as a warning to others who would let their paranoia drive the world's path toward (winnable) nucleor war. Even decades later this paranoid bastard defends his actions as if the US had in fact carried out a nucleor first strike that vindicated his crimes.

I would like to hear comments from someone in Russia to see if they even know about this incident and how this one man almost destroyed the world with his lies to a bunch of paranoid geriatricians that ran that country in the 90s.
