"Rowdy" as a nickname edit

@Cyphoidbomb: Sir, I'm confused about the recent edits which added that the subject is called "Rowdy" by the fans. I don't believe it is lead worthy but it looks reliably sourced. Will it be OK to add in the nickname parameter in the infobox? or in the early life or career section (a similarity with Magic Johnson article). However, it seems Mr. Deverakonda was called Rowdy in a demeaning way in his early life by his family. But I don't know where to add in his career section. Kindly advice - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:36, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it belongs in the infobox. Every time I see one of these nicknames in the infobox in an Indian article, it always looks weird to me. "Superstar Mammootty", etc. Magic Johnson doesn't have it in the infobox. But it does make sense to me at Machine Gun Kelly. I'm divided on whether or not it belongs in the lead. On the one hand, it seems to me like every other promotional nickname applied to Indian actors, but he's also capitalising on the name by launching a fashion line, etc. Anyhow, what seems to be missing is sufficient context, which should probably be included elsewhere in the article (if the lead is supposed to summarise content found elsewhere.) For instance, if his parents called him "Rowdy" or whatever the story is, that info should be somewhere in his bio as might the knowledge that his fans are called Rowdies and that he has a fashion line named after his nickname. We also can lose the "fondly" and "called as" is not proper English. It should be "He is called Rowdy by his fans." Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:50, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Cyphoidbomb: Hmm.. will it be OK to change the 'Early life' section title to 'Personal life' and add both the fan / family part there? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:15, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Fylindfotberserk: Do whatever makes sense to you. If anyone objects, you two can figure out the best course of action together.   Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:39, 4 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect data edit

The date of birth mentioned with the name at the starting is wrong, the correct birthday year is 1989 instead of 1981. So please correct it ASAP. Rku3chk (talk) 07:57, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Done. Thanks for raising the issue here Sharkslayer87 (talk) 08:35, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Vandalising the article edit

There are several instances where Vijay's name has been changed to Jayanth / Jayanth Mandava. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.161.102.117 (talk) 02:52, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

April 2022 edit

@SP013: Hi, it is regarding this edit. The TOI source is explicit ("Harish Shankar delivered the first clap") on the launch of a 'new film' which agrees with our WP:FILMOGRAPHY policy, unless the film in the source and the film listed here are different. Would you clarify? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:41, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's basically what we call a muhurat shot. The actual shoot may or may not begin at that time. Sarkaru Vaari Paata, for example, took two months to start filming after its pooja ceremony but Thalapathy 66 began immediately.
However, one might argue that the WP:CRYSTAL is passed because the film is on, since the budget, script, cast etc are already finalized. The probability of the film getting cancelled after the pooja is the same as it getting shelved after commencing the shoot. Big productions are likely to get coverage again the shoot beings but smallish one may not. -- Ab207 (talk) 11:14, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Ab207: I believe, we had sources on muhurat shot used to pass WP:FILMOGRAPHY in the past. Can't remember the particular BLPs in which we had these. I agree with your argument on WP:CRYSTAL. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:04, 22 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Concerns about possible copyright violations edit

This Earwig Copyvio Detector report shows that there is a 71.5% similarity between today's (15 March 2023) Vijay Deverakonda Wikipedia article and this article at bollywoodfever.co.in. However, I have not been able to deterimine if bollywoodfever.co.in used the Wikipedia article as its source or the other way around.

The bollywoodfever.co.in article is dated 1 March 2020 (or possibly 3 January 2020), so the existence of text in the Wikipedia article prior to that date that also appears in the bollywoodfever.co.in article might be an indication that bollywoodfever.co.in used Wikipedia as its source (and thus is possibly a mirror or fork of Wikipedia).

This Earwig Copyvio Detector report for the 29 February 2020 version of the Wikipedia shows no overlap with the bollywoodfever.co.in article, which would appear to indicate that bollywoodfever.co.in did not use Wikipedia as its source.

I would appreciate any assistance other editors can provide to help me resolve this. I will tag the article to alert others to this concern. Thank you.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 21:31, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Archer1234 The Wikipedia:Copyright problems noticeboard would be much more helpful if you could report this there — DaxServer (t · m · c) 09:20, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Not a copyright violation. The January 2020 Wikipedia revision with the same text predates the March 2020 Bollywood Fever article. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 18:08, 3 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
