NPOV edit

bold and use of word "massacre" for a start, insufficient details. GraemeLeggett 18:01, 6 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Which other word would you suggest? Seems to fit in the List of massacres. Get-back-world-respect 18:33, 6 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
From that same article intro "Individual or small group acts of murder may also be described as massacres for sensationalist or sentimental reasons" GraemeLeggett 10:13, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
So what would be your suggestion? Get-back-world-respect 12:58, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
The editing of the text has reduced it to a less emotive article, I would consider whether a less emotive article title is required and following the general convention it probably puts the location at the end eg "Killings of POWs at Salina, Utah". GraemeLeggett 14:38, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
But killings does not express that it was a crime. Get-back-world-respect 15:28, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Homicide is always a crime - unless you don't get convicted GraemeLeggett 15:53, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
Killing in defense is legal. Get-back-world-respect 17:59, 7 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

How can this be considered a War Crime if it happended after the war?.. The fact that those killed were captive in the US or that the killer was a soldier is inconsequential to the War Crime charge... this should be under mass murder or massacres in the US, but I can't see it as a "War Crime". 205.173.93.39 19:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The German prisoners were being legally held as "Prisoners of War" surely under such conditions any crime against them must be considered a "War Crime" regardless of whether hostilities are over. Deckchair 11:48, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think "massacres" is fair, or maybe "murders". There doesn't seem to be anything saying it was self defense. --Awiseman 03:47, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm being bold and removing the NPOV tag. Gillyweed 01:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Article move and restoration. edit

This article was moved without consensus or announcement. I have restored the article name to its original status. I would request that if anyone feels that this article should be moved again then it should me discussed here first and consensus reached. Cheers. Deckchair (talk) 10:55, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

I assume it is pretty pointless to have two rather short articles about the same subject, thus I'd recommend to merge the article about Clarence V. Bertucci into this one. ((Lord Gøn (talk) 01:02, 13 November 2008 (UTC)))Reply

A merger seems to make good sense as it will beef up this article. Deckchair (talk) 09:52, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Seems as if no one is against merging, so I'll do just that. (Lord Gøn (talk) 17:37, 14 January 2009 (UTC))Reply

Move discussion in progress edit

What happened to Bertucci afterward? edit

I'm curious as to what "conviction" did Bertucci receive after his action. Nothing is mentioned and more info on this is needed. Dinkytown talk 12:59, 16 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
