Upgraded page edit
Replaced old blue infobox with new type light blue ship infobox. Replaced infobox pix which was poorly reproduced and replaced it with the same pix with much higher quality from DANFS. Wikified article after verifying information with DANFS. Added two pix in text showing Varuna in battle and also sinking. Added new links, see also, minor edits and fixes throughout. get poem about Varuna edit
The article says: "Varuna's part in the Union triumph was soon commemorated in George Henry Boker's poem, "The Varuna", which appeared in the Philadelphia Press on 12 May [1862]." Surely the poem must be in the public domain. It would be highly relevant to get it and include it in this article! I wonder if it was published elsewhere in a book that could be obtained. But actually it should be possible to get the Philadelphia Press article by request to a librarian in Philadelphia. --doncram 18:00, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
