Governor?

edit

I wasn't aware Andres Pico was a governor of California. His brother Pio was. Is this correct? - Parsa (talk) 14:11, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, he wasn't governor. He was a general in the Mexican army. Yes, his brother Pio Pico was a governor of Alta California at one time. Windsong0425 (talk) 17:13, 14 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Treaty text.

edit

This is what Wikisource is for. There is no reason to have it in two places.

The treaty text that was in the article was horrible. It didn't make sense, especially with everything a list. Not all bullet points are equal or should be one. A person's name treated as an item along with treaty text is not good. Bgwhite (talk) 04:21, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Bernarda Ruiz

edit

I am concerned about all the talk about Bernarda Ruiz and her part in the negotiations for the Treaty of Cahuenga. I have checked a number of primary sources and find her mentioned only once, in Fremont's Memoirs. He says he met her in Santa Barbara and had a fruitful talk with her, but all the rest (riding with him to LA, meeting with Andres Pico, witnessing the signing) I find highly questionable. If anyone has information on this, I would be grateful to hear it. Windsong0425 (talk) 17:17, 14 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
