Missing Information edit

There is a large history of Rally America and American Rally Association results that are missing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.134.166.43 (talk) 22:34, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect information edit

Tha information about being the first to land a backflip in competition is incorrect. The first backflip landed (albeit poorly) in competition was done by Carey Hart at the 2000 Gravity Games. hey It was Carey Hart, and it was in the 2000 X Games, he fudged up the landing, but it was the first Attempted Backflip.

X Games XII Best Trick edit

This was his first Gold Medal in this competiton. I checked over the article and it didnt mention anywhere stating that it was his first Best Trick Gold Medal.

You must not have been reading the correct article, then. I've updated the page so that it reflects the fact that it was Travis's first Best Trick Gold, along with the proper citation. ArleneElizabeth 09:40, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Other Languages edit

The italian page seems far more succinct (sp?) than this page, if anyone knows Italian, could they translate it onto this page, or use the information off it to make the English one as good? Jonomacdrones 16:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • I can't read Italian, but judging simply by length and citations, I would imagine the English article is much better. I'm not sure why one would prefer succinctness, as I think all information that is notable and verifiable should be included. -- Kicking222 20:24, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Questionable edit

To me, at least, there seems like an awful lot of questionable, highly POV material. I would like to excise this-it does not add much to the article.Badgerzilla 20:01, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please elaborate on what seems questionable and/or highly opinionated so we will know what to try and work on. The main things that jump out at me could be the line "Pastrana also has a reputation as one of the most friendly, approachable athletes in the pro ranks, due to his natural charisma and bright personality" -- though it really is quite factual no matter how opinionated it may be. Also the line "His hard-charging, go-for-broke attitude makes him a podium threat in any race he enters" does seem a bit questionable, especially now that a lot of people may not even remember what Pastrana races like in a supercross. Beyond that, I'm at a bit of a loss for what else may seem questionable... though I'm sure I've got a bit of a bias because I've edited through this article pretty extensively. So, again... please give examples so we'll all know what should be worked on. ArleneElizabeth 01:36, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Other than personal testimony, I don't have a citation, but I'd say it's most certainly true that he has a reputation as one of the most friendly, approachable athletes. I wouldn't remove that because it is pertinent to his biography, despite being subjective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JGarrick (talkcontribs) 08:54, 8 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Team Puerto Rico edit

Travis Pastrana will represent Puerto Rico at Motocross des Nations (the Motocross World Championships) [23], can someone more fammiliar with Motorcycling WikiProject's manual of style add a mention of this participation and his Puerto Rican background to the article? - 24.139.221.198 10:42, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK I'll put my head above the parapet as an expert in all things off road, especially Motocross.
a) the MXDN (sorry MXON bloody marketing BS!) is more the world cup (football - sorry soccer) rather than world championship (which is a separate series, the MXDN is more a unification event between the AMA and FIM champs)
b) Travis was strongly rumoured, etc (see the Puerto Rico press release above), but couldn't make it (scheduling, injury, etc - might be a press release somewhere like racerxill.com) see Youthstream entry list here
c) i could include something about his MX/SX career and past MXDN appearances (for the USA), what you after ?
d) the Puerto Rican link IIRC is something like a grandparent, since in motorcycling Puerto Rico has a separate federation but since your all on US passports how does one prove nationality??? (even if he has represented the USA in the past)

FYI he is assuming the Puerto Rican nationality, [24] and is representing the country in a Latin American cup taking place in Costa Rica. His father (not his grandfather) is Puerto Rican wich made him directly elegible to represent the island. - 24.138.194.140 (talk) 05:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Naming issues edit

This is an encyclopedia, so the subject should be identified by his last name, not his first. Use "Pastrana" instead of "Travis." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.81.93.167 (talk) 03:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

World Record Ramp to Ramp Car Jump edit

I'm sitting here in California wondering how Travis has already made this jump (Long Beach, Calif.) in 2010 while my clock says 9:26 PM Dec. 31 2009. Does this count as Jan. 1st 2010 if it's simply that day somewhere else in the world?173.55.131.183 (talk) 10:54, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

-- No, it's incorrect in the article. It should say "to end 2009" but someone on the east coast obviously wrote it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.230.93.221 (talk) 06:29, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

it happened on the west coast, so pretty much, it happened before midnight Pacific Standard time, then it happened on Dec. 31, 2009.--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 07:31, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
