The Blebo estate edit

In 1649 the estate of Blebo passed from the Traill family to Andrew Bethune (died 1653), who had been a successful businessman in Paris. It remained in his family until the death of his descendant Alexander Bethune of Blebo in 1900. The mineral discoveries in 1722 were during the ownership of John Bethune of Blebo (born 1699). Geoffrey de Trailli, Charter of Rievaulx edit

I had also come across some of what is reported at http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/crispincousins/conversations/topics/1717, which one ought to be able to work into the article, though that reference does not seem appropriate to cite, it should lead to good sources. They quote from the charter granting land for Rievaulx Abbey about “Gaufridi de Traili” and say that the Traillis were Domesday tenants who probably came from Trelly, near Coutances after the Conquest. It is worth looking for Trail, Traill, Trailly, Trailli. PJTraill (talk) 00:44, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Trail (surname)Traill (surname) – This article is predominantly about the spelling Traill with double-l, so the page should be moved to reflect that. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:43, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment. If this is moved, please amend the entry at disambiguation page Traill. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:46, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom, doesn't seem particuarly controversial. PC78 (talk) 21:07, 15 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support I don't actually see any references to the single-l name in this article. Colin M (talk) 19:19, 17 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Samuel Trail and James W. H. Trail are mentioned in the article; there are others not mentioned here. Peter James (talk) 18:21, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Those mentions were added by Stephencdickson about 2 hours after I left that comment. :) Colin M (talk) 18:46, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
