Talk:Tiddas (band)

Folk? edit

Although I've seen these guys live a few times, I'm crap with putting band in boxes. Any suggestions as to what they actually are, because I really don't buy "folk" even though I put it there. - brenneman {L} 07:14, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Album title edit

The ARIA awards page says "Sing About Love". We go for verification, not truth, so I'm going to change the title to match the reference, even though I think it's wrong. - brenneman {L} 07:38, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've added two refs which confirm the correct title, and mentioned in the description of the ARIA source that the title is shown there incorrectly..... ChrisTheDude 08:14, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've updated the ARIA ref and adjusted the attached note. ARIA lists the title as both Sing About Love and Sing About Life at the 1994 ceremony.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 13:43, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Tiddas (band)Tiddas – This article was previously moved from Tiddas on 21April 2014 by User:Tachfin without discussion and a disambiguation page put in its place, as a result of the user creating Tiddas (commune) - which is a stub article about a small community in Morocco. A web search shows that the primary topic found about Tiddas relates the musical group, whilst the second most common topic about Tiddas is a 2014 novel by Dr Anita Heiss. The disambiguation page at Tiddas is proposed to be deleted as it only relates to two distinct Wikipedia articles. I am therefore suggesting that the article of Tiddas (band) be moved back to Tiddas. Dan arndt (talk) 13:27, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - the Australian band does get coverage Google books, particularly from 2nd and 3rd page of search results onwards, but all the same the commune in Morocco has significant mentions too: Susan Searight Maverick Guide to Morocco 1999 p 179 "Back on the S209, continue to Maaziz and Tiddas, noted for its moussem in September, in which gaily decked-out horsemen perform their fantasia." The book is a third not very significant addition to the WP:TWODABS, but since a dab seems required, no reason not to link the book on it. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:20, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I've created a page for the novel so the disambiguation page now has three links. None are obviously the primary topic but this band seems closest. duffbeerforme (talk) 07:50, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Powderfinger connection edit

Am curious as to why this article is listed under WikiProject Powderfinger, as far as I can tell Tiddas has no connection with Powderfinger or any of its band members - can anybody point out why it is listed as such.Dan arndt (talk) 13:37, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

The group provided backing vocals for "The Day You Come" (August 1998), "Passenger" (August 1999), "Like a Dog" (January 2001) and "Thrilloilogy". They also accompanied Pf for live performances in the late '90s or early '00s. (See 1, 2). There may be other associations.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:51, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
