Talk:Thomas Whaley (politician)

Future expansion edit

Just a couple of notes: There's a lot more to be said about Buck Whaley, of course. The story of his winning the Prince of Wales' professional date of the night in a game of cards is frequently mentioned. More sources would of course be a good thing. One issue I noticed is that many sources say he was MP for Newcastle in County Down instead of the correct Newcastle in County Dublin. It seems to be an error in a version of the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography that has replicated itself. The stories of his jumping from first floor windows into carriages and impulsively proposing marriage are also abundant. His acceptance of bribes regarding the Act of Union was reported in various ways in different sources; that he accepted bribes is accepted, but in which order?
