I agree, this entire article is mega short. The movie is absolutely amazing, and this article just shot it to hell. I was hoping to find some behind the scenes, the style chosen, background, how the actors felt about it... It honestly feels much bigger than what I'm finding here... guess it's up to somebody. Requested move

The Holiday (2006 film) → The Holiday – There's no other film with the title "The Holiday," so a disambig is unneeded. Right now, the space for "The Holiday" is occupied by a redirect to the Secularization of Christmas article, a redirect that doesn't make any sense. Crumbsucker 09:58, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Alternative Move?

The above move was proposed on the basis that there were no other films of the same name but The Holiday (film) doesn't seem to have been considered as an option.

I don't know if any of these are notable but there are numerous books with the name according to a library search (e.g.: Erica James (who is a well known author), 2000; Constantine Fitzgibon, 1953; E.M. Crothers, 1921; Annie Mac, 1984; Guy Bellamy, 1996; Richmal Crompton, 1933; Dacia Maeraina [in Italian, translated 1968]; Michael Morley, 1926; Florence Margarent Smith [under pseudonym, Stevie smith], 1949; Carola Oman, 1928; K. Skelton, 1985; Roderick Hunt; Eric John Bamford; C. Lenanton), two newspapers (in Philidephia and Bangladesh). There is also The Holiday Album by Miracles; I don't know whether it is called The Holiday ever.

I'm guessing none of those are nearly as notable as this movie with Cameron Diaz and Jude Law and Kate Winslet, etc. Therefore, it should still be the main article with the others disambiguated. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:04, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

I hadn't heard of the movie either, but looking at Google and the pages on these books, some are probably notable but nowhere near as much as the film, so I agree. I just noticed the books when you were about to move and thought it best to mention it, anyway.

Attempted Edits

While attempting to clean up some of the grammar and confusing/unprofessional wording of this article, I was unable to save due to a "blacklisted link". Unfortunately, I haven't got an abundance of experience in attempting article edits, and I don't know how to remove it. Trivia

Errors

In the house swap website the Union Flag (for the whole of the United Kingdom) is erroneouslyshown as being the flag of England instead of the St. Georges Cross.

Inone scene, Amanda is sitting in bed watching Little Britain onBBC1 when an advertisement comes on. The BBC ispublicly-funded, and therefore does not air advertisements.

WhenIris (Kate Winslet) is driving Arthur (Eli Wallach) home, heasks her what part of England she is from. She says "Surrey",to which he replies "Cary Grant was from Surrey" and explains heknows this because Cary Grant told him once. He was actually fromBristol, some 100 miles to the west of Surrey

In recent occassions i have detected quite a substantial amount of vandalism arising within the page. Should we possibly attempt to lock the page. Most of the vandalism is comming from IP Adresses and not wikipedia users. A semi lock could possibly be a solution to this issue.

Soundtrack incomplete

After looking at the movie, we wanted to find out the title of the last, final song. The soundtrack of this article was of no help. As we found out otherwise, the last song is You Send Me by Aretha Franklin. Why is this song not in the "official" soundtrack?--

Affirmation of an error noted in TRIVIA

Even though it's a movie, I had taken the line about Carey Grant being from Surrey at face value. Then, in an episode of Match Game 77, Richard Dawson happened to mention that Carey Grant is from Bristol. I followed up, verifying the Bristol and Surrey are distinctly different places, and that Carey Grant is indeed from Bristol, according to the reference to Grant in Wikipedia. 2600:1014:B002:C471:8CD8:76E4:38A:DFB8 (talk) 21:46, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
