References edit

At the moment there's only one source for everything in the article, and some of the claims aren't supported in the places you'd expect. For example, I can't find any mention of Suzie Dickinson in the last ten years of Australian Songwriters Association contests. Maybe her awards were pre-1999, but if so they must have been published somewhere and someone will have kept press cuttings. All the claims made need to be backed up by reliable sources such as reviews in newspapers or magazines. Web sources like NuCountry.com are probably reliable, but user-generated content like myspace or blogs isn't. If you are citing a publications that isn't available online, please give enough information for someone to find the article at a library (there are some examples here). I (and others here) can help format references if the essential details are there. - Pointillist (talk) 11:42, 11 March 2010 (UTC) updated 12:16, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Concur with all above; just pointing out that nucountry.com actually appears to be the website of an Australian country music TV show, so definitely a more reliable source than a private website of some kind. But yeah, there's still a little way to go with references. --Rlandmann (talk) 12:31, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yup, I think NuCountry should be fairly reliable, at least to the extent of not publishing something they knew to be wrong or dubious. As to whether they would verify all the bio material claimed by someone they profile, I'd be less confident about that, so having a range of sources is good. - Pointillist (talk) 12:41, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of Interest issues edit

Just adding that while the subject of the page did indeed contribute the original version of the article herself, she's been completely up-front and honest about this (see revisions here and here that have been lost in the rapid editing of the article). She's been extremely gracious and co-operative in working in with us to make the article conform to Wikipedia policies and standards. After some editing, hopefully there's nothing here that seems like a COI any longer. Many thanks Suzie for your patience and good nature. --Rlandmann (talk) 12:06, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

And congratulations to you Rlandmann for all the improvements! - Pointillist (talk) 12:16, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
