POV edit

I have edited the following statement out of this article: " His take on the classic hits and his new material is something to be listened to in awe." I believe that the statement does not conform to the NPOV policy. If someone feels otherwise, please correct it. Ajwebb 22:33, 16 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

More POV concerns edit

I reverted some edits by an anon contributor on 7 February 2006 - the new edits were POV, although this was problematic, because the text they replaced was also probably POV. However, the prior text seemed closer to being "encyclopedic", and fit the flow of the article better than the new. The two edits were the only contributions to WP by the anon editor at this point. By habit, I put "rvv" in my edit summary, although the anon edits were not technically vandalism. Sorry for that inaccuracy. It might be helpful if someone knowledgeable about Augeri's work could address some of the remaining POV statements in the article, for example, "incredible showmanship". The statement "have had people starting to believe that he is the most talented frontman in Journey's legendary history" should be referenced with a source - did a reviewer or critic actually say this? can we site the source? Thanks, Lini 12:44, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've Wikified the article to have less fan adoration and stick to straightforward statements. If someone wants to add "HE'S AMAZING!" back in, it will have to be documented from Rolling Stone or some other reliable sources. LovelyLillith (talk) 16:33, 22 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

July 6th? edit

I have edited the part of the page where it says that the band announced on July 6th, 2006 that Steve Augeri was to be replaced with Jeff Scott Soto, because they really announced it after a recent show on July 4th, that he was going to be replaced.

Cleanup edit

I've expanded the biography to include a sentence each on Tall Stories and Tyketto, and I've completed a general cleanup of the whole article. Is this enough to remove the {{cleanup}} tag or is more work neeed?

Also, can anyone confirm when Tall Stories disbanded? The current text mentions that Augeri retired from the music business when Tall Stories ran out of momentum in the mid 90s, but this was around the time he was in Tyketto. Is it accurate to say that Tall Stories' demise prompted his retirement, or had they already split up by the time he sang with Tyketto?

Steve Augeri is still active musically as of March 2008. Tall Stories is also musically active with Steve Augeri as lead vocalist, if memory serves me. 4RM0 (talk) 09:09, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Performance edit

Steve Augeri is one great performer and singer. Augeri took the Tyketto and Journey songs and made them his own. His 1st tour with Journey (1998 vacation over tour) it took him about 30 shows for him to feel comfortable with the band. You could see the improvement during this tour. He was amazing during his 2nd tour in 1999. The band and Steve were clicking. You could see it in Neal, Ross, Deen, and Jon expressions on stage. Journey recorded a new album in 2000 for relaese in 2001 with new frontman Augeri. This new material was awesome. Steve was a natural fit. It had the Journey sound. Also they filmed a DVD titled Journey 2001, it showcased the band with it's 2 new members Deen and Steve A. Steve was in top form. to be continued (----)
