is he still standing for election? Jeffklib 10:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Landeryou seems to think he has, but we can hardly use him as a source. --Kieran Bennett 13:24, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Andrew Landeryou is a fink! A far-right partisan hack can hardly be referred to as a credible source. The link does not even refer to the subject - Stephen Mayne. The link is just an advertisement for Andrew Landeryou's opinionated blog.

Image copyright problem with Image:Glenn Milne Walkleys.jpg edit

The image Image:Glenn Milne Walkleys.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

POV comment on conflicts? edit

At the end of the Journalism section we have....

On both crikey.com.au and maynereport.com, Stephen Mayne has revealed publicly a troubling aspect of his careers. While operating mostly as a journalist and commentator, Mayne has also been an active share trader. Frequently his commentary on share trading issues appears to reflect an absolute conflict, contrary to all known professional ethics codes.

This is sloppily written, but appears to me to be trying to say that Mayne often displays a conflict of interest on share trading issues. The point appears to me to be non-NPOV, and is also unreferenced. Should it stay? HiLo48 (talk) 09:58, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I don't think we even need to consider the POV aspect just yet. The fact that the statement is unreferenced is enough reason alone to delete it. It goes.--Lester 05:39, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jumped? What the...? edit

Under Journalism the article tells us that "Mayne jumped for a number of media outlets". Jumped?

I may not be in touch with media industry jargon, if that's what it is, but neither would most other Wikipedia readers. Can we have a plain English translation please?

HiLo48 (talk) 08:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I noticed that too and fixed it. Dated back 2.5 years. Appears to have either been low level vandalism by an anon IP or maybe some well meaning edit, but if so it's jargon I've never heard of either. --jjron (talk) 07:26, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

it's hagiography. doesn't mention his historyt as a government PR, his share trading history whilst a journalist, a great variety of scamming and self-serving behaviour not to mention a total absence of ethics
