  •   This article has been expanded fivefold and is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:17, 5 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • "it remains inhabited" by how many?
    •  ? Census data doesn't show specific population for individual islands (most of them are unincorporated, so they're just counted into the total for the unincorporated areas of the county they're in). Reclamation Districts often have a listed population that you can find in county documents, but Spud Island isn't part of one (since it wasn't reclaimed) so no luck there. This seems to indicate that there's a house for sale on the island, but doesn't seem like a RS (and doesn't tell us how many people live in it, or if there are other houses).
  • "It is located in San Joaquin County, California. It is in the San Joaquin River, at" -> "It is located in the San Joaquin River in San Joaquin County, California
    •  Y Fixed.
  • "on maps as far back as the 1900s" as far back is POV.
    •  ? Changed to "as early as", not sure if this is better.
  • "The City of Stockton" why is City capitalised? And is there a link for Stockton.
    •  Y No good reason, and yes. Fixed.
  • "$226,076" nearest $1000 is fine.
  •  Y Now that I've figured out how to fix it, sure.
  • "Island were made" bid is singular.
    •  Y Fixed.
  • Link levee.
    •  Y Fixed.
  • "of dirt" do you mean soil?
    •  ? Source says "dirt" but I can change it.
  • "by boat.[13] A boat ran aground" boat boat. Maybe "In 1997, a boat...
    •  Y Fixed.
  • Avoid single-sentence paras.
    •  Y Fixed.
  • Is California Division of Boating and Waterways a linkable thing?
    •  Y Well, I'll try. Their site doesn't give anything for a "Spud Island", though. Are they mentioned in any of the sources?

That's all I have on a quick pass. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 16:44, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@The Rambling Man: That's what I got; thanks for the review, and let me know if I should make any of the other changes mentioned. jp×g 07:13, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
