Contested deletion edit

I suggest that this article is not a candidate for speedy deletion and should not be deleted for the following reasons:

1) Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, G11, states: "If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion."

2) The subject meets Wikipedia’s notability requirements through its significant coverage in reliable sources.

3) Generally articles about entertainers, especially musicians, often include listings of their works, awards and independent reviews of their performances. Such content is arguably neither spam nor self-promotional, but demonstrates the subject's contribution to their art.

4) The article is similar in tone, scope and content to many Wikipedia articles about notable musicians including: Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Evgeny Kissin, Martha Argerich.

5) I would encourage editors to offer constructive ways to improve this and other such articles. Thank you. Wjwalrus (talk) 00:45, 29 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Global Music Awards edit

@Leonmarcus: I don't think we should cite globalmusicawards.com, because it is not an independent, reliable source. Per http://www.globalmusicawards.com/Judging-Categories.html: "If you win our honors, our credibility may make it easier for you to lock-in bookings, be discovered by A&R executives and be signed by labels." Fanfare edit

I notice five references that cite https://www.fanfarearchive.com and one that cites http://fanfarearchive.com/. Without even getting into whether fanfare is a reliable source (that's for another time), such references do not satisfy our verifiability policy that all content must be verifiable. It does not uniquely identify a source of information. The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article, so if there is a review of Agranovich's work published by fanfare, we should provide the URL of the review, not the main page of the website. That would probably be something like this: https://www.fanfarearchive.com/articles/atop/44_4/4440020.aa_Interview_Pianist_Sophia_Agranovich.html (that these links are accessible to subscribers only is not a problem). Agree. I intend to work on individual links. (Currently this Fanfare link in the article goes to the Agranovich's page with each clickable line referring to a particular review: http://fanfarearchive.com/indices/itop/performers/agranovichsophia.html.)
