How come the name? edit

Er, who/what is the tournament named after? I'd say that would be a highly relevant fact to include in this article. --Wernher 17:32, 10 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Great, thanks! :-) From the look of his name, I did suspect he might be a Norwegian-American, and lo and behold, so he was, I now see from the article on him. --Wernher 00:04, 26 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Links to individual events edit

To link to a specific Solheim Cup this page has links like: 2011 Details whereas the Ryder Cup has e.g.: 2012, i.e. the year is the link.

Presidents Cup is similar to this page having e.g.: 2009 details (although using Template:DetailsLink) but most other Golf pages simply have the year being the link e.g.: Walker Cup, Lexus Cup, Open Championship, Masters Tournament, U.S. Open (golf), WGC-Cadillac Championship, etc.

Shouldn't it be consistent? Nigej 08:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I think the format should be the one that makes the article most usable. It may be impossible to be consistent across all articles since many editors are involved. I favor the use of "Details" sd on Presidents Cup because I think the fact that the year links may not be as obvious as it could be to many readers. I don't have an opinion on style, upper case or italics, doesn't matter to me. --Crunch (talk) 23:26, 22 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Junior Solheim Cup edit

Shouldn't the Junior Solheim Cup be a separate page? Currently Junior Solheim Cup redirects to Solheim Cup#Junior Solheim Cup. We have a Junior Ryder Cup page currently which is not part of the Ryder Cup page. Nigej (talk) 11:20, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'd support moving the JSC content to a separate page. Tewapack (talk) 16:05, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
