issues with the article

edit

I haven't been in Wikipedia for a while, so I don't know how to elaborate on the references and notes. I also don't understand what is close paraphrasing. I think I worded the article in sufficiently independent manner from the original quotes. Also, there aren't any more reliable sources available on the internet, so we better live with what we have right now. (Pastelchu (talk) 02:44, 7 August 2013 (UTC))Reply

Hi Pastelchu. In order to prevent link rot, you should provide more information about each source in addition to the URL. Use the Citation templates built into the source editor. For your reference you'll want to use the "Cite web" template for each source. You should provide the title of the article, URL, date the article was written (if available), date accessed, and the name of the "work", or name of the individual or company that produced the article. As far as paraphrasing, as an example I'll use the contourmagazine source. On their website, they say "South Korean artist KwangHo Shin creates paintings full of quiet longing and uncertainty." and the article that you wrote says "Shin KwangHo's paintings are full of quiet longing and uncertainty." The wording is almost identical, and this type of paraphrasing exists for a fair bit of the content you've included in the article. In addition to the paraphrasing, this same example is basically made up of peacock words. Saying that his works are "full of quiet longing and uncertainty" is subjective, and not really worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia where only facts should be stated. As an example of how this can be done correctly, try looking at similar articles that have been written by other users. For example, check out "Pablo Picasso#Blue_Period" to see how it's written based on facts and not a critic's opinion. Let me know if I can help in any way. I'm by no means an expert, but I'm willing to review any changes you make and give suggestions. Take care, and thanks for putting in the time to create, and improve this article.
