One question & a couple of unnoted facts ...

edit

That couldnt have been his name? Suckslot? WTF?! Then it talks about his Doolittle relatives. But without any explanation. Did he change it? Was it like his mom's name? I know a lot about Doo but not much about his parents except that his dad was in the military and that when Sean was maybe 6 or 7 and Ryan, a little younger, he was stationed in Merced, CA. He would take the boys to A's games. But That's it. I wish this explained more or is it just a bad joke??

Also, there is no mention of the streaks he had prior to becoming the A's closer in May '14. Prior to May 20th, the day he was officially named A's closer he hadn't walked a batter since 8/31/13, he gave up a walk that day in a loss to the Tigers.

He was also the first pitcher since 1900 to strike out at 45 or more batters (57 K's for Doo!) prior to issuing his 2nd walk of the season, which he did on June 30th. I'd consider that notable enough to be on this page.

And depending on how you look at it, he was technically one of 7 A's All-Stars because they had already acquired Samardzija from the Cubs and altho he did pitch for the NL he ran over to the AL dugout after pitching to be with his new teammates. Most writers Ive read have said the A's had 7 All-Star because, well, they did!

So that stufg should be corrected and can someone explain the name Suckslot?? Come on! That's ridiculous! LOL! Baseball jen21 (talk) 06:18, 10 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Politically Independent?

edit

Do you realize how dumb it sounds when you write that he says he is politically independent and then a few paragraphs later, say he is a dues paying member of the Democratic Socialists? Yeesh! 2600:1006:B150:E148:D92:690F:DA81:EC8 (talk) 19:35, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
