Sazerac now? edit
I think some of the Schenley brands may still be around. I think Schenley got bought by Barton Brands, which changed to Constellation, then was bought by Sazerac (which doesn't seem to have a Wikipedia article but it should). But I can't find sources. Rees11 (talk) 14:40, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Prohibition edit
The entry on Isaac Wolfe Bernheim claims there were 10 distilleries authorized to produce during Prohibition, including I.W. Harper. Repkow (talk) 02:33, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
- There is a difference between distilling and "producing" (or bottling). If I understand correctly, distilling was shut down around 1917 (due to WWI austerity measures, followed by Prohibition) and was not allowed to resume at all until late 1929, when six distillers were allowed to resume operation to produce whiskey for medicinal uses. During the period when there was no distilling, the existing inventory was put into "concentration warehouses", and could be used for bottling of whiskey for medicinal purposes.
