2015 Lawsuit edit

In the "economic development" section of the page there is currently a paragraph stating that "There have been multiple lawsuits against the Chumash in recent years, including a suit that was filed April 3, 2015 that claims the property where they are building their 12 story high rise hotel/casino is not part of their "Federal Tribal Trust Land" and has never been." The reference for this statement links to a page for the Chumash Casino at a casino directory, which seems to post recent news concerning the casino but deletes older posts, including that which seems to have informed this paragraph. More to the point, the lawsuit in question was dismissed by early July of the same year as the court did not have jurisdiction and the plaintiffs were ruled to not be a necessary and indispensable party ^[1]^[2]^[3]. As such, the filing of this lawsuit does not seem to be significant enough to list under an "economic development" section. There are certainly tensions between segments of the Santa Ynez township and the Santa Ynez Band, but if anything the matter deserves its own section where it can be placed in the proper context, and even then such a section would have to be composed with great care to accurately reflect conditions on the ground and respect the Wikipedia neutral point of view standards, particularly as concerns due and undue weight and false balance. To summarize, I would recommend the removal of the paragraph in question as its references are obsolete, the lawsuit in question was dismissed, the matter does not belong in an "economic development" section, and its inclusion without proper context may unintentionally conflict with NPOV standards. Barring any objections within the next month or so, I believe there are sufficient grounds to carry out the removal. If anyone has any concerns, I am more than happy to discuss them here.
