Fair use rationale for Image:RM 300.JPG

edit

Image:RM 300.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Title

edit

Why should the page title be "Kurrgan" and not his real name???? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.17.145 (talk) 22:59, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Good question! Several reasons, see our policy on article titles. Generally we avoid phrases such as real name and correct spelling as they look objective, but in practice English is a dynamic language and there are no such rules. So instead we follow usage as a general rule, and avoid linguistic prescription as being out of date.
And there are other important considerations for biographies of living persons. There's a lot going on!
Note also that there is a redirect from his real name, so the consequences of the article title being different are greatly lessened.
See the requested move below for some more discussion. But a I said, good question. Hope to see more of you here. Andrewa (talk) 18:23, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

KurrganRobert Maillet – I agree with the IP above. Maillet's acting career is giving him increasing exposure beyond his identity as Kurrgan; compare Google results of "Robert Maillet" -wikipedia and Kurrgan -wikipedia. With his wrestling career behind him, this dynamic is only going to increase as he continues to act. --Relisted. —Darkwind (talk) 01:56, 29 September 2013 (UTC) BDD (talk) 19:26, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

As a professional wrestler, hasn't he really been an actor all along? (;-> Andrewa (talk) 18:27, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wrong birthplace

edit

Maillet was born in Georgetown, Ontario, not Saint-Marie-Du-Kent, as shown by his personal Facebook page. "It was great to return to the town I was born. First time I've been in Georgetown since my parents returned to the Maritimes when I was less than a year old." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.218.173.161 (talk) 03:45, 11 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
