Why is "riesling" capitalized in this article? edit

I understand that wine varieties are capitalized when they come from a place (Asti, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Cava, Chablis, Chianti, Lambrusco, Rioja) and they come from that place. A burgundy wine from California is not a Burgundy, which comes from Bourgogne in France. "Riesling" is of uncertain origin according to https://www.etymonline.com/word/Riesling.
