ALT hooks with Park

@EdChem: I like your wording of ... that "Merchant Prince and Princely Merchant" John Plankinton built a mansion (pictured) as a wedding gift for his only daughter, Elizabeth, but she refused to live in it because her fiancé, Richard Henry Park, ran off with a dancer?" Would it be appropriate to make that ALT2c and strike all the other ALTs so there is no confusion for the promoter? --Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:13, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

@Doug Coldwell: I have been wondering about re-arranging the nomination to make it clearer, but I thought I'd leave it until we can make RHP bolded. On this expansion, it seems to me that we need to include:

• basic biographical details
• sections on major works
• clarifications on his relationship with Plankinton
• infobox?
• Do away with the external links that belong as references by incorporating them

@EdChem: All the above sounds correct to me. I have done a few biographies as you can see in my list of Did You Knows. An infobox is a great idea. Question - how did you come up with 2500 as the amount needed to qualify? My first impression (from little voices in my head) is that ALT2c should be dropped in NOW and we should just go ahead and expand the article on a day-to-day basis. Perhaps we should make it NOW as ALT2c? I don't see that it hurts things, doing it this way = similar to what I have done in the past for biography expansions.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 12:45, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

@Doug Coldwell: The pre-expansion (baseline version) is this, with 649 characters, so the required size is 5 × 649 = 3245, so the extra needed is 3245 − 649 = 2596 characters. However, I had already added 148 so it was down to 2448 needed when I said "about 2500". Given your concerns, I'll update the DYK nom. EdChem (talk) 13:20, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
