The reason of split? edit
Why was it split from Chinese Taipei at the Olympics? -125.132.155.139 (talk) 14:44, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
- As (admittedly, briefly) explained in the article, this covers the Olympic appearance of China as the Republic of China, prior to the Chinese Civil War and the county being split into China and Taiwan. The IOC does not combine these appearances with neither team, as all three are separate geopolitical entities. Jmj713 (talk) 15:14, 25 June 2013 (UTC)

- Yes, if you go to olympic.org, you won't find that China or Chinese Taipei participated in the 1932, the 1936, or the 1948 Olympic Games. Unfortunately, olympic.org is structured in a very un-user-friendly way, so you can only find medalists, but not participants. Since the Republic of China (pre-Civil War), never won a medal, I'm not sure how to find a direct link to it on the IOC's website, or if indeed it exists. Jmj713 (talk) 14:14, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Nagoya Resolution source edit
Just so that it is on record that I have used but also do have a problem with Susan Brownell, "Could China stop Taiwan from coming to the Olympic Games?" as an unbiased citable source because much of what she has included in her essay is based on a book that was written by the Chinese leader's wide who worked as a reporter for a Chinese publication, Brownlee's translation was published by the official propaganda agency of the PRC, and the expressions used in the Chinese leader's book was controlled by an official PRC agency. But at this time she does provide primary sources that can lead to other reputable without reserve secondary sources. Sometimes what is needed is not necessarily what is a good source but some guide to a good source. The exact sources being identified can help with internet searches for what is WP approved citations. Bare with me as I hope that some semblance can be brought to at least the confusing two China's Olympic issue since there are several individual articles dealing with some aspect. Hopefully the article will exhibit the nuance of each article and action.76.171.14.188 (talk) 20:34, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
