Fixing This Article

To anybody who comes across this message, hello! I'm here because this article is currently a mess. I'm trying to fix it, so here's what you can do to help.

Personal Life

I actually had to delete the entirety of the "personal life" section because there were no citations to back up any claims made there. I'm not very fond of editing this section, so to help, you can add the section back and write it, but please make sure you add citations to prove your claims. If you don't cite evidence, your claims will likely be deleted.

Picture in the Infobox

Currently, the photo in the infobox is a picture of Queen Naija crying, and it's not very good, so if you don't want to edit the main contents of the article, a very easy job is to find a picture of Naija that has no copyright and has a creative commons license. You can then add it to the infobox, and if you don't know how to do that, look it up, or leave the link to the photo in the talk-page so I can add it in myself.

Controversies

A section for Naija's controversies does not exist right now. You can help by creating the section and adding at least one of her controversies. Make sure you add a citation that proves the claim you're making or it will be removed from the article. Make sure you are not including any original research (read this). In simpler terms, make sure everything you add has been talked about by a major publication. Do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, YouTube videos, or anything else that is not a strong source. It all comes down to what references we can find and their quality.

Incorrect, controversy sections in exist in nearly every significant artists' Wikipedia pages. I would leave evidence here, but you could literally look at any page that belongs to an artist and you would see a controversy section. VersaceSpace (talk) 19:20, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

WP:CSECTION (admittedly an essay, not a policy) has a good explanation of how we should approach negative material in order to maintain neutral point of view (one of the core tenets of Wikipedia). To keep everything balanced, it makes a lot of sense to incorporate both positive and negative material into the same section. There's a lot of silliness on Wikipedia (and sometimes downright unprofessional writing), which is one reason why it's better to look at policies and guidelines (like WP:NPOV) rather than trying to model articles after one another. The essay you sent me implies that the article I linked is the only article with a controversy section. If articles like Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Azealia Banks, and plenty of others can have controversy sections, I think Naija should get one too.VersaceSpace (talk) 18:47, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

The policy, which I already identified, is that organizing articles in this manner is inappropriate. I expect any article you find with such organization will not have any strong, broad consensus for it.
