Consistency with other similar major awards like 92nd Academy Awards, 77th Golden Globe Awards, 72nd Directors Guild of America Awards, and 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards. Also, having a year in the article title causes unnecessary confusion about whether it refers to the year in film or when the ceremony is held- for example, the upcoming ceremony is called the "2019" awards on Wikipedia, while they're called the "2020" awards on the official Producers Guild website. Note: prior to 2001, the awards were called the PGA Golden Laurel Awards, which is retained in the move request. -- Wikipedical (talk) 17:11, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- While I support this proposal, I would suggest naming the articles of the earlier ceremonies just "nth Golden Laurel Awards" (instead of ""nth PGA Golden Laurel Awards"). The PGA itself calls them this on their website today (see here or here) and, going by some archived pages, also called them that at the time (e.g. this or this). News articles from the time also often simply called them "Golden Laurel Awards" (just some examples: one, two, three and four). I can see though that the term "golden laurel awards" might be a bit too ambiguous/imprecise/not distinct enough. Felida97 (talk) 20:54, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- User:Felida97, I would support that change and will revise the move requests for those articles now. -- Wikipedical (talk) 21:42, 14 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom and since reliable sources use this labeling. I suggest changing the year redirects into disambiguation pages to list either the year they are presenting for or the year they're presenting on. I saw this with another set of awards and thought it was a very useful fork. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 01:35, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, especially after the slight adjustment (see above). Felida97 (talk) 12:23, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support - per above. Also, there should be redirects from 1st Producers Guild of America Awards to 12th Producers Guild of America Awards to make searching easier (most will probably not know that the Golden Laurel came before). --Gonnym (talk) 08:56, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
- Support - per nomination and proposed redirects/renames. --Bachwiz18 (talk) 06:30, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
