Change name? edit

Shouldn't the article be moved too PryvatBank? Since the и of ПриватБанк is translated as y in Ukrainian and as i in Russian and this is a Ukrainian bank... — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 10:31, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'd be inclined to agree, but they seem to consistently use PrivatBank in non-Ukrainian language settings (see http://www.privatbank.ua/info/index3.stm and in Russian they're also using ПриватБанк rather than ПрыватБанк). Maybe add a redirect and the Ukrainian transliteration in parentheses? 194.100.66.100 (talk) 12:39, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes... and also on the Dynamo Kyiv-shirts (see here) it is spelled as PrivatBank... — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 12:58, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Made a ref about it, not sure if the translated it simply from Russian ore they just use Privat cause it looks more like the English Private (i.o.w. for marketing reasons) so I havn't mentioned that for WP:OR reasons. — Mariah-Yulia (talk) 13:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think "PrivatBank" transliteration is better to remain too, 'cause the bank use such spelling in its url (please see its official page) and at its English-language logo. It's due to Eastern Ukraine origin of the company where Russian language dominates. PryvatBank article can work as redirection. Olga Vaganova (talk) 10:26, 2 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Delete parts? edit

Can chapters:

  • 3 Innovations
  • 4 Social Projects

be deleted? Or are all other Ukrainian banks not doing something similar? Small sentences about the bank being inventive and has social projects can be placed in lead after deletion. — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 22:15, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I propose to shorten them but keep concrete facts and figures. The first paragraph in Innovations can be deleted. Also statistics about their internet banking users can be added to other stat at the beginning of the article. But to keep their own innovations. Olga Vaganova (talk) 11:43, 2 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
And I will find references for social projects.Olga Vaganova (talk) 17:10, 2 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Shorten the intro. Absolutely no need for all these numbers after we've read that it's the largest one.95.132.242.31 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:47, 15 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I did cut out such cruft in the intro now. Zezen (talk) 11:15, 19 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Large Scale Fraud edit

No mention of the industrial scale fraud there, reported by highly reputable sources? https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/privatbanks-42-bln-london-lawsuit-against-ex-owners-begins-2023-06-12/#:~:text=PrivatBank's%20lawsuit%20accuses%20Ihor%20Kolomoisky,Bogolyubov%20both%20deny%20any%20wrongdoing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.190.99.57 (talk) 13:09, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
