Talk:Pontiac Grand Am

Latest comment: 1 year ago by 76.135.144.239 in topic Page broken

I do not think removing several images was necessary. I did not find them to be "low quality". At least leave them until someone gets a high quality one to replace it. Articles w/o photos can be a bit dull IMO.

How does one procure permission to display a magazine image? edit

I have one issue of Automobile Quarterly and it has an article on the '73 Pontiac Grand Am in it. How would I go about asking AQ if I can scan their picture and use it in this article? Respectfully, SamBlob 22:00, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think that the motor sizes are wrong edit

Can someone please check the V6 motor sizes? I don't recall the later models having a 3.0L V6, or for that matter, a 3.3L V6. And, at some point, the engine designations were moved to 3100 and 3400.

I know nothing of the later models, but I had a 1973 Pontiac Grand Am with a 455 cu. in. engine (it sported a "7.4 L" on the rear), four barrel, and especially for a car of its weight (was in weight class 3 in NJ, it had steel beams in its doors) it was FAST. The entire article is full of wrong information... especially with engines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.205.86.195 (talk) 02:42, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

I'll have to do some quick research, but I'm pretty sure the 1993-94 GAs came with the Buick 3.3 before getting the GM 3100 corporate motor. As for the 3.0-liter, it came on some of the earliest (1985-1986) N-bodies, but GAs were pretty heavy on turbo and Quad 4 motors during the 1980s rather than the V6 (those were used mostly in Skylarks and Calais). No More Grand Am For Me edit

As of November 15, 2007, I will no longer be photographing any Pontiac Grand Am automobile for me. This was due to IFCAR having the G6 (the Grand Am's successor) as his most-wanted Pontiac vehicle in photographs. IFCAR will handle the rest of my Grand Am job. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 15:20, 17 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Supercar? edit

If anyone can explain to me how the 1973-1975 Grand Am could be classified in any way as a supercar, I'd be grateful. As far as I've ever been able to tell, the Grand Am was basically a really nice intermediate with some Euro-inspired styling and muscle car engines. I fail to see how that compares with, say, a Ferrari 365 GT or a Lamborghini Countach, but maybe I'm missing something. Duncan1800 (talk) 09:43, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Page broken edit

It appears that the page has been messed with to remove drop-down tabs that separate the generations of the Grand Am (like how nearly every car page on Wikipedia is), with the car's 5th generation being placed underneath one of the sales drop-down tabs. Could someone fix this please? Thanks in advance. 76.135.144.239 (talk) 04:31, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
